There's a LOT of anger on that thread...I tried to lighten it early on and got slammed so I became a lurker.

Has anyone thought about why there are only these two sound bytes of nasty? Someone must have taken a lot of time going through all those sermons to get those images-why didn't they have more nasty stuff? Hasn't this preacher been there for years? Video taping of sermons has been around a long time, I'm sure there was a lot to choose from. If this is a persistent pattern of behavior as the posters on that thread seem to believe-why aren't there more sound bytes?

I understand that-but the fact that the person hunting only found those two sound bytes means that they had to wade through a whole lot of normal preaching-maybe things about the Bible or Jesus, or love for neighbor or community responsibility....stuff that people might actually agree with.

I thought what he had to say to Keith Olbermann on Countdown this evening was good and heartfelt.

I agree. I thought that was an excellent place for him to address things.

I am upset, almost heartbroken right now about this whole Obama/Rev mess. I felt I finally found someone to believe in and then this comes along and it all slips away. I know he doesn't believe in the hatred the Rev spews, but how could he be so stupid to belong to this??? It makes me angry.

But, I'm listening to what he says, remembering what I truly like and believe about him and am moving forward.

But I'm having such a hard time tonight reading what other posters are saying, even democrats? Do they truly believe Obama is racist???? Anti-American?????????
I hate thinking this, but I feel some are actually happy that they have a "legitimate" reason not to vote for a black man. I truly believe that.

Well, apparently the election is over and McCain has won....Obama has been declared dead due to Pastor-gate.

At least that seems to be the opinion of the political experts here on the DIS.

I can't even post on the thread discussing this issue anymore because apparently it is now about "neener-neener" instead of an actual discussion.

Sorry for my bitterness this evening, I'm just frustrated right now.

Well, if you'd seen what John McCain's preacher was saying, it wasn't any better.... so I doubt Pastor-gate will due him in... if nothing else there will be a lot more out there on McCain's preacher...

Don't be, whatever will be will be. People can believe him, or they can choose not to. It's up to the people who do vote for him to decide. The new pastor is coming up on AC 360 on CNN, I personally hope he sounds better than McCain's preacher Talk about another hater, there was one

Maybe not, think about it... if Independents were to be swayed to McCain for this, then they need to hear what McCain's preacher is saying, then choose their candidate..... McCain's preacher's words will get out there one way or the other.

Did you see Senator Obama's interview on Countdown with Keith Olbermann? If not please find it. He said something that really clicked with me. I'm not as old at the Rev but Obama's comments about the different viewpoints of the different generations made sense.

None of it does him well, but everyone else is NOT hands clean here...
