There is NO way any Clinton is going to back down from anything, regardless of how it looks for them, I'll believe it when I see it & I don't think I will ever see it! But, perhaps Brazile does know something? I don't know?

I do wish he'd said this in person today. I think it would have helped even more.

He did indicate that he was not in the church when these things of question were said... I assumed as much, but it was good for him to say that as well.

But I'm afraid there will be those insisting that he was there. Anyway, I think it is good he is addressing this and then get back to the issues facing the nation.

Just curious, but did the McCain/Hagee (sp?) get this same level of scrutiny?

As is evident from the Pastor thread (for one), that certainly is the case. Not sure what else they need? Due to how well Obama is handling this all, it will blow over. Luckily PA isn't on Tuesday.

It won't be enough for those who want to see him go down, but it was enough for me. He repudiated the statements but not the man. Those who want to see him lose will make comments about him not denouncing the man, but if he did that then they will trash on him for having thrown a friend under the bus.

A very dangerous position for him to be in. I'm glad he understands the severity of this and that 527s will be using this in commercial after commercial.

I posted his statement on the pastor thread earlier and someone said it wasn't enough because he is still on his spiritual adviser committee. Well he has removed Wright from that as well, but I'm certain it isn't enough to some.

So he has removed him from the campaign, denounced and repudiated those comments, and it's pretty clear he doesn't share those - not enough for some.

Especially since most of them wouldn't have ever voted for him anyway-Pastor or no Pastor.

First of all-this Pastor preaches politics from the pulpit, which is a HUGE no-no in my book. Stick to the Bible, Rev...leave the politics outside.

Secondly-I have enough respect for Senator Obama as a legislator and as a human being to know that he can differentiate between discussions of faith and discussions of politics. I would give Senator Clinton the same respect if she were in a similar situation.

Did anyone watch the story on Hillary & S chip? The senator's (such as Oren Hatch) who came up with the plan are very upset that Hillary has claimed ownership of the creation of S chip for children. Apparently she had very little to do with it since the Clinton Administration was against it

But back to Obama, he's still going to have a problem with this, I just get that sense... particularly with those people he was trying to attract from Hillary's base.

There's a LOT of anger on that thread...I tried to lighten it early on and got slammed so I became a lurker.

Has anyone thought about why there are only these two sound bytes of nasty? Someone must have taken a lot of time going through all those sermons to get those images-why didn't they have more nasty stuff? Hasn't this preacher been there for years? Video taping of sermons has been around a long time, I'm sure there was a lot to choose from. If this is a persistent pattern of behavior as the posters on that thread seem to believe-why aren't there more sound bytes?
