  • Hillary

If it came down to that for a Democratic nominee, and you were inclined to vote Democratic, who would you vote for?

I'm still learning about Obama, but absolutely it would be him over Hillary for me.

Barack Obama would have my vote mainly because he is one of my state senators and I am very familiar with his positions. I voted for him in the primary and senate race - I think nearly everything he has said has made sense so far. I dread the muck raking that is inevitably going to start because he has two little kids and a very classy wife. They will be scrutinized and that is the part of politics I can't stand. If Hillary Clinton is the candidate I will consider her carefully as well. Nobody gets my vote simply because of party affiliation, but she certainly seems closer to my point of view than anyone capable of actually getting nominated by the Republican party these days.

Obama, but i'm not frightened of Hilary. I wasn't a fan of hers when Bill Clinton was in office, but I've grown to like her more over the years.

I never vote party, always the individual. In this poll, I'd pick Hillary. Just don't think Obama has enough international experience.

Hard pick for me... I like them both a LOT! I've got to get to studying first and see who they're up against.

Obama. I think he is a decent person and I really think he can accomplish something. As for Hillary...no comment lol.

Okay, I can't vote yet, but I'd choose Obama if I could. He seems to know what he's doing, although he does not have much experiance.

I always thought it would take a woman to fix the "stuff' wrong in the world... I just dont think she is what I was thinking .

Obama. After the Hilary fiasco with health care policy during her husband's administration, I don't trust her to have the backbone to be president.

I also think she can't win. Bill Clinton, brilliant and accomplished as he was, combined charisma with the common touch. Hillary is completely lacking in charisma and strikes me as effete (kind of like Kerry). The Democrats need somebody who at least APPEARS to mean what he/she says and to say what he/she means.

I agree. Personal charm was ALL Bill Clinton had going for him, and he used it to his greatest advantage.

Hillary, on the other hand, just plain rubs people wrong. She's like fingernails on a chalkboard. Too many people already dislike her, lots of women won't vote for her because they think she's a fool for putting up with Bill's sexual escapades, and there are always the people who just plain won't vote for a woman. Partner that with the fact that she's really stepped in it politically a few times, and she's had no real political victories of her own (though she was tied to some of Bill's victories). In short, too many people already hate her, and she has no real record of her own -- she can't win the election.

The Democratic party would be foolish to put her up as their candidate -- MAYBE as the vice president (though I don't think people would go for that either), but certainly not as president. It's a suicide ticket.

Another Poll that would be good....

Is America more ready to have an African American President OR a Female President???

I'm not inclined to vote Democratic (though I will weigh both candidates individually when the time comes), so I didn't vote. I didn't want to mess up your poll results, but I still wanted to chime in with my opinion, LOL. I prefer Obama over Senator Clinton because I feel like he really says what he means and means what he says. I think he carefully chooses his position and sticks with it. I unfortunately feel that Clinton has been trying to position herself as more moderate than she really is as of late (though her voting record isn't what I would consider moderate). I would have more respect for her if she just presented herself honestly and stuck by her own opinions. That's my two cents on why I prefer Obama.

I think a woman could, Condy!!! She won't run though, so if I was to choose a Democrat (which i wouldn't) it would be Obama.

Some may say that voting party line instead of for the person is not a good idea, but I do have concerns about any Democrat, because based sheerly on ideology they would fall on the opposite side of the fence from me on just about everything.

I do feel we are fighting for our lives, and four years under anyone who thinks terrorists can be negotiated with, is four years we don't have.
