Oahu surf lessons

If they have a groupon, it's to stir up business. The air balloon at WDW had one for use during low revenue hours. Read between the lines- either they are attempting to drum up non-existing business or fill in times of void. Check for reviews online too.

We haven't used it yet, but we bought the Groupon for Buttons which is also on the North Shore. They had good reviews and were easy to work with when I called to schedule the date/time. My cousin used them a few years ago, when he lived on island and thought they were good then too.

Have fun!

You have to be sooo careful, anyone can open up a surf school and then just head out on boards with a bunch of kids and push them out on a wave, I have seen it done. Make sure they are licensed and insured-sorry to sound preachy but like another poster said the Groupons are to drum up business. Check the business out on Trip Advisor, Yelp and places like that too.

Thanks for the replies. I think i will research some more. I did see the other Groupon from Buttons, but it expires before our trip. We will be there beginning of May so I still have time

I don't know about the Groupon surf company but we used Hawaiian Fire Surf. They are off duty firefighters who teach surfing. We had an amazing time and found them to be very professional.

Unfortunately I believe Hawaiian fire have stopped doing lessons. We are looking at booking through surf hnl.com - their manager, Ian, posts here on the Dis:thumbsup2

FWIW, it has expired and then been relisted 4 times since I started looking about 13 months ago, so it very well could be on again in May.

Did Hawaiian Fire Surf also close their shop across from Aulani? They had the best hats. If so, I'm glad we bought one for our nephew last trip. We also met the nicest gal who had picked up and moved to Oahu from the PNW. She was trying to get us to make the big move too, but I think we're set for now.

Saw that HawaIian Fire has a post on fb about a sale at their shop in Ko Olina, so I assume it's still there!
