Ha! We will actually be there exactly those dates! There are 16 of us total, although a couple people are leaving early due to work commitments because we will be on kauai the week before.
LOL! That's too funny! We are actually going to be in Kauai the week before, as well!!
That photo only shows a portion of the seating available. When we were there tables extended perpendicular from the stage all the way back to the covered box seating. Then tables extended diagonally down both sides. I don't know exactly how many people were there, but it had to be in the 400-600 range. There were multiple tour buses in the parking lot. Looking at those pics reminded me of how beautiful Hawaii is. Makes me want to go back!
I actually brought that particular photo and a photo taken by an Aulani guest above Ka Wa'a, brought both photos into photoshop and (as best as possible) counted the seats. I got approximately 265 seats at the Aulani luau. Not including the 'Royal Box' the Paradise Cove luau has at least 575 seats. Paradise cove is basically twice the size of Ka Wa'a, assuming the photos I had were accurate.
Based on the above, I am now leaning towards Ka Wa'a. While I'm sure Paradise Cove would be ok, I have to wonder out loud if the production, food and general atmosphere would be nicer at Aulani -- simply due to the fact that there's less people there.
