O/T - Is teacher appreciation week celebrated in Ontario?

We recently moved to Canada from California.

I was wondering - do the schools in Ontario celebrate Teacher Appreciation Week (or something similar)? Is it in May?

I never even realized there was a teacher appreciation week, I guess there would be though since there seems to be a week for a lot of professions out there. Maybe someone else can help

I'm not familiar at all with this and my hubby is a teacher (high school). There is, however, "Education Week" that is celebrated (observed?) the first week in May.

Thanks for the welcome! We are very happy here.

We own a party store and I do chocolate bar wrappers for customers (I design wrappers that go around a Hershey bar, for party favours, etc.). I was going to do a brochure for various different events - like Administrative Professionals Day, Graduation, Weddings, etc. In CA, we had "Teacher Appreciation Week" (I was an elementary teacher) and the principals typically gave little appreciation gifts to their teachers. I was going to make a brochure to distribute to principals here. Good thing I asked first!!

Do teachers usually get "thank you" gifts during Education Week, or is it more for the students and schools to showcase what they are doing?

I don't think I have ever seen anything given out during education week. In terms of marketing, I would still make some wrappers as teacher thank you gifts but sell them in June and in Christmas. Make sure the food is peanut free as most schools in canada are peanut free.
