NYS Chemistry Regents...

Sorry to hijack your space but I need some advise about DD15. She took the regents and got an 85 on the exam and a 90 for the final grade. This is the lowest grade she has ever gotten. Her actual overall average is usually around a 98.5. Will this be a negative against her for college. And if you don't mind sharing, how hard was it and what types of grades did others get...

DD told me, "This was the hardest regents exam in 10 years...."

Well that's still pretty good, so I don't think it will since her overall grade is amazing.

I don't know anything about regents.
But I can tell you, as kids get older the material becomes harder. So usually, grades do drop.
But 90 is great for an overall grade. The only class this year where I had a grade near 98 was Personal Development (kind of like health class), it was a bird course.

I think that your daughter will be fine. The only way colleges will ever look at her regents score is if she goes to a state school. And besides, an 85 is the lowest score in the optimum range. she did great don't worry!

If the Regents are the state testing usually collage don't even look at those...

Here where i am they really don't matter at all...

Scores across the entirity of NYS were low, most were in the 70s
