Since the topics for anything podcast usually evolve into food I thought/hoped this would be ok to post here. It's sort of a review so I will stick to that story! :) I did post it on the Community Board so if you feel it doesn't belong here you can just delete it.

I was lucky enough to get tickets to a cooking demonstration by Tyler Florence. If you've been watching the Food Network you may have seen the commercials for the NYC Wine and Food Festival. It was so great, and Tyler Florence is even more friendly and personable in person! He made Chateaubriand with burnaise sauce, brussel sprout and fingerling potato hash and a yummy looking carrot cake with cream cheese icing. OMG, it smelled great! He auctioned off 4 seats on stage to eat his food to benefit the Food Bank for New York City which was pretty cool. The bidding went from $1000 :scared1: to $250.
We learned a lot about his life and he shared some cooking info. I can't remember all the cooking info and to a seasoned cook what I found interesting may seem obvious.
I took some pictures and I got his autograph, thanks to my persistent mother! :cloud9:

This last one was in the subway, I felt like a tourist but I've never seen this before!

The pictures I took of the actual cooking were way too dark.

Mmmmmm, Tyler Florence - thanks for the yummy pics. :rolleyes1

Yeah, he was absolutely adorable! ;)

Hi Mish19. I live in Aspen and have been going to and volunteering for food and wine magazine classic in Aspen since 1997. Were you able to go into the grand tasting tent? If so did they have a lot of different foods? Here you don't buy a ticket to one event you buy a pass for 3 days. It is a great event!:goodvibes I would love to attend the food and wine in south beach one year.

I have got a crush on that one, I tell ya!!! A good looking man that cooks......I think it's time to get FH into the kitchen!

Yet another reason why I miss NY!!!

BTW - the subway picture, is that in Times Square - it looks just like the ones on the Hilton building.

The subway pic was at the 14th Street station on the A line. They were so cute, I had a pic of me sitting on the bench next to it but I didn't like how it came out, LOL.

I only went to Tyler's food demo, this is a new event for NYC and I would like to attend again next year.
