Thought I would get some certificates from www.restaurant.com to help with cost of eating while in NYC...any idea if any of the restaurants on there are any good? Any to avoid?

I can recommend Angus McIndoe's in the theater district. Have eaten there before I even knew they were on restaurant.com. Now I've got a cert. waiting to be used for my next trip in.

Hill Country Barbecue is great!

So is Tanoreen, but that's pretty far out in Brooklyn, so unless you're planning on heading out to Bay Ridge, Brooklyn, don't bother with that one.

I've had brunch at Essex and it's pretty good. Not amazing, but definitely good. Their certificate is only valid for dinner, though.
