Hey! Anyone registered and waiting for the lottery? No way do we qualify from race times so we may end up waiting for 3 years for the automatic qualify.

Hi Sheri!!

I registered, this is my third year in a row...last 2 times didn't happen:rotfl: . If I don't get in this year, I'm assured a spot in '09, I guess:confused3 . Let's keep our fingers crossed!! Have you ever run the NYC 1/2 marathon??

Hi! No I didn't know they have a 1/2. Have you run the 1/2? Is it on the same course? I'll keep my fingers crossed for you for '08. It's great you get to go for sure in '09! If we strike out 3 times we will have our first go at it in '11 -- :scared1: It would be awesome if we all got spots in '08 though!!!!
For now we will do the Boulder Bolder in May.

I also entered the lottery. I really, really want to do this one since I was born and raised in Manhattan. This is my first time entering so I am guaranteed to get in by 2011 the latest! I'll be 58 then....gulp!

I registered for the lottery too!!

I failed last year, so worse comes to worst, I am in for 2010!

That said, I will NEVER complain about WDW races being pricey again after the fees and hotel costs in NYC!!! :scared1:

(Do you realize that if 50,000 runners apply for the lottery, they make half a million dollars for doing essentially nothing?!?! Really cheeses me off, but I really want to do NYC just once...)

Kevin :earsboy:

Hey, Kevin, somebody's gotta pay for our governor's....."entertainment". :headache:

I have to look up the Half. When is it? Hmmmm.... :rolleyes1

$$$$$$$ I know. We have our registration confirmation print-outs taped up by the treadmill and elliptical. And there's no problem getting my heart rate up when I see the amount that will be due $197 for each (entry fee and training shirt/delivery)!!!!!

Entry Fee - training shirt - lottery registration - orange laces (1) for two -- $426
Airfare from CO. $600
Hotel in NY -- $250-550 / night
Hours of sweat blood and tears --- :scared1:
Crossing the finish line --- PRICELESS

:thumbsup2 Hope to see some Wish folks at NYC this year :). I'm not running..but I think I'm going to spectate!! I haven't entered the lottery...mainly b/c in the very OFF OFF OFF chance that I get in this year my race schedule is pretty packed as it stands now. I'll probably go in the lottery next year after finishing Goofy.

Good luck to those of you in the lottery. I really hope to see you run by!!!

I thought about the same thing. I wanted to apply just to get one of my 3 denials out of the way. But, I might actually get in and I can't attend this year so that would stink. I'll wait until next year and start applying. Other than running around Disney, NY and the Marine Corps are the only others I am truly interested in. OK, maybe the Hawaii one and maybe the Paris one and maybe the .....

enjoy,
Duane

Hey NYC Hopefuls!!

Sheri - The NYC 1/2 is TOOO cool! This is only its third year running, but the course is to die for! Starts in Central Park & you do one loop around (about 6.5 miles). Then you come out on to 7th ave. to screaming fans, past Carnegie Hall (musicians out front playing) down to TIMES SQUARE! Then you take a right onto 42nd street & follow that all the way down to the West Side Hwy. where you take a left & cruise down to Battery Park & the finish! What a great event! I hope I get in again this year b/c they switched it to a lottery after the first year b/c it was so popular! It's on 7/27!

Hi to all the rest of you NYC wanna-bees! I hope we ALL get in. That being said, ya'll are right, start saving now! KA-CHING$$$$$
