NY Waterway/Seastreak Ferry to NYC

I need to go into the city tomorrow for a workshop at Columbia. Ideally I'd like to take one of the ferries but it will cost about $42 round trip. Does anyone know of any discounts, coupons, Groupon deals, etc. to lessen the expense? I know I can take the train for about $30 but prefer the ferry. Thanks!

I have never found any discounts. You might want to check for advisories. I am guessing you are near me, and there have been some ice issues recently.
