Just got back a week ago and wanted to let everyone know our experiences.

Detroit Metro: The new terminal is nice and we used the economy parking which is $8 a day. No problems but it is a ways from the terminal, but they do have people movers. We checked in our luggage outside. I had gotten our boarding passes at home on the computer as we had e tickets so we breezed through everything. The sky cap made sure he let the people ahead of us know he was the sky cap and did they know what that meant. They finally tipped him. I guess because he checked them in they figured it was just like the guys inside. Security was efficient.

Our plane was delayed 2 hours d/t the storms that had moved through Detroit the day before, a fact we didn't find out until we were all the way to the gate, all the screens kept saying on time.
Actually it was a good thing as I was very nauseous and had the extra time to use Bonimine (spelling?) and pepto bismol.

We were met a baggage by Ronnie who contracts through Your Ride. Great guy!!!! Helped us with our luggage, very friendly, found us a place to sit while he got the towncar and even had 2 cokes waiting for us. Tour guide and driver rolled into one. You can request him through Yourride and I would recommend him. Asked us twice if we wanted a grocery stop, says there is a new Winn Dixie he takes people to. In the end we didn't stop.

Any questions please ask

Thanks for the info! We'll be flying to the World in December from Detroit and will use yourride for the second time. Had Rabbit last November. He was also great! Haven't had a chance to use the new terminal yet. Any tips on getting around?

It's easy to navigate. If you are traveling east on I 94 take the 275 south to Eureka Road and it takes you right to the new terminal. If you are using the long term parking, park on the 6th floor, that's where you go across to the terminal. They also have automatic pay things on your way out as well as e ticket booths(with no lines) before you leave the parking structure. Once inside we just used the people movers but there is a shuttle that runs above your head. There are certain spots where you go up an escalator to reach the shuttle. Any other questions please ask.
