so i had my interview last week and i told them i was only interested in doing attractions and character attendant. (i was going to tell them merchandise but decided at the last minute that i didn't want to do it, bc you can sale stuff anywhere). anyway, the more i read about people experience and about the program online i am scared i may not get accepted bc i only put down two things.
i know that i am applying a little late and am afraid that me being to picky is going to make it for i don't get accepted.
i told my sister about this and she told me they still wouldn't be recruiting if they still needed people.
i was wondering if i don't get accepted because the job i want is filled if there is a way i can tell them i will do another job? has anybody had this experience?

thanks

Yes. You can not be accepted if the roles you have picked are all full already. It has happened before. And it is common if you only pick few roles (especially popular ones). Good luck!

i'm doing careerstart & i only put down attractions & merchandise. the interviewer seemed content that i only picked those, but now i'm worried!

My recruiter was telling everyone that they should pick at least 4 roles.

so is there anyway i can tell them i want to do another job if i don't get accepted. or anyway i can let them know now that i would be willing to do other jobs?

I originally only picked 3 roles but I ended up getting so nervous on the phone I said I would do "attractions, recreation...or anything else" and checked off every box on the sheet lol. My interview was last thursday and Im so nervous cause I will die if I get stuck with custodial or QSFB.
But its really no big. I really want to do the program but if I don't get attractions or recreation I'll just decline and try again for spring.

i'm doing careerstart & my ONLY options were QSFB, custodial, merch, attractions, & lifeguard. i only wanted attractions & merch. at least i was honest... oh well. we'll see soon.

Now, I'm not saying you can't be accepted if you only pick 1-2 roles (it has happened). However, it severely limits your chances of getting in, since if the roles you picked are full by the time you apply, they can't offer you anything else (since you didn't select them).

Try calling the recruiting office. 1-800-722-2930
If you are not accepted because of this, next time, choose any role that you would do, even if its not your first choice. Just getting to go work for Disney should be exciting enough. I know you can do merch and stuff like that anywhere, but not with all those benefits and memories you're going to get working at Disney. There are a few roles i'd love to get over merch, but if thats what they give me, i can deal with it, because the good outweighs the bad, and this is the first step in getting my foot in the door.

So i just emailed them and they responding much quicker then i thought they would.. but anyway they told me i couldn't re-interview for the same session again, but i could email her a list of other roles i would be willing to do.
so i also put down merchandise Main Entrance Operations. After reading about those two it doesn't seem like it would be that bad.

of course the only thing that stinks now is i will probably have to wait longer to see if i got in.

My recruiter forced me to choose 5 roles, when I had only chosen 3. I became flustered a bit- but in the end persistence for my first choice paid of. I think that you all will b absolutely fine if you showed the recruiters that you have the heart and drive for the program :wizard:

I applied early and only selected one role (Transportation) and that is what I got :cool1:

That's exactly what I want to do, but I feel that it's too risky for the opportunity.

What kind of questions did they ask?

I got:

Would you feel comfortable operating the monorail with guests in the cab;

Would you feel comfortable operating the monorail at heights up to 70ft;

Would you feel comfortable operating the monorail at night.

And the other generic get-to-know-you questions.

I really really expressed my interest in monorails, and my interviewer said that she was glad I was honest when I told her "No thanks" to Custodial and QSFB.

update:
disney called me today because i wanted to sign up for more roles. the lady was very nice and told me that the recruiting season was coming to an end and that the roles i wanted were filled for the fall program. my first thought was oh no i didn't get in out they are going to ask me to do QSFS.
then she asked if i would be willing to do the fall advantage program.. and of course i said yes. (i had another internship set up, but disney is more important) she then said that there was a merchandise role available for the fall advantage program and if i wanted it i would get in, and i said yes.
and she ended the phone call telling me i should get my acceptance letter in the next week.

so i am proud to say that emailing them was a good choose and i will be seeing everybody in may.
