Number of days

We're heading down to DLR March 15-19 so I believe we will be there in the height of spring break season.

We're trying to decide how many days of tickets we should purchase. We will be using the Canadian Resident discount so adding on days on site will not be an option (a lesson I almost learned the hard way in 2016 except for some pixie dust from an amazing CM supervisor). Our plan is to arrive at the Desert Inn around 5pm on the 15th (Sunday) and leave no later than 11am on the 19th (Thurs).

We're definitely doing 3 day PHs with Maxpass, so are just trying to decide if it is worth it to add on the other two days for $64 more total. We do want to do Trader Sam's so we could do that on our arrival day and just sleep in and leave when we get up on Thursday, but am also considering with it being so busy, maybe the extra hours are worth it? Possibly even do our magic morning the day we leave ?

$64 is nothing compared to the overall cost of the trip. I think its nice to just have that option.

I went Spring break last year on Canadian resident with Maxpass and Park Hoppers. Did 4 days and we were glad we did (doing 5 next time). We could have seen all the stuff we wanted in 3 but the price was so good and the pace of extending it too. That being said, we were there long enough to fit in rest days. In your situation I would probably just enjoy the 3.

$32/person seems like a bargain to me. Just the flexibility to be able to stroll down Main Street, use a FastPass or two, or catch some entertainment on those extra would be well worth it. It also may take some of the pressure off during the busiest parts of your full days. Take a couple-hour break if it gets too crazy one afternoon, and figure you'll make up for it on that last morning before the major crowds hit.

Add the extra days! Peak Spring Break means that you will likely get later hours in the evening, so you could potentially have 6-7 hours in the park on the first night. I'd use that time to do low wait time attractions: Grand Circle Tour on the train, perhaps see the Fireworks or a parade. Then on the last day there is time for one last ride on a couple favorites and some last minute shopping.

Absolutely add the extra days! It will be so much more relaxing not trying to fit everything in to 3 days. And $64 is a fantastic deal for two more days.

I would add one day for arrival. But your last day that seems too rushed.

I am notorious for going to the park the morning of my departure flight. I did it this past trip, leaving the parks at 11am, and was able to get 8 rides, breakfast and 2 character meets done before I left. I was glad to have the extra hours in the park. I say go for it...it helps to not feel rushed during your trip.

I think 3 days minimum is necessary. We used to go only 3 days to the park, then pushed it up to 4, and when we realized we could get an extra day free we've been going the last 2 years for 5 days. It kicks my butt physically, but it's so worth it. You get to do literally everything you want to do and then some. However, it really depends on you and the people you're going with and how much they can tolerate. And since you live out of the country it might be nice to add another day or two for such a cheap price just to do it, that is, if you don't get down to Disneyland that much.

I'd do a 4 day ticket as I don't think you'll have time for a park on departure day. We love a last 7am breakfast at one of the character meals though (our preferred one for departure morning is at Storyteller's)

Our typical touring plan for our WDW and UOR trips do include mid-day breaks so this would give us some leeway for that for sure!

Yeah we were thinking that our first day we could plan on hitting the Fireworks for sure and bonus for any rides that aren't too crazy for wait times (if they exist haha!) I feel like we might have better luck with Trader Sam's on Tuesday than Sunday (though I'm sure both will be pretty busy!)

The good part is we are still on vacation for 6 more days after we leave DLR so still time to rest up haha!

It will definitely make for a busy morning! But when I look at the price difference between 4 and 5 days, it is only $24 if I recall correctly so if Magic Morning starts at 7am, that's like $6 per hour for both of us. Oh Disney math lol

So as I'm sure you can tell, looks like we're going to go ahead with it. If we decide to ditch the last day, we're ok with losing out on that money to have the option in case we want it.

We went during February 2019 break and started in the parks then went to Trader Sam's at 11am during the week when it opened. We were able to pick the perfect seats to watch the paintings and it didn't start getting busy until 1230- 1pm. My son was only 11 at the time so we couldn't sit at the bar. It's really a lot of fun. I'm on the add days team as well; we always go the day we arrive and the day we leave. I plan our flights that way. Have so much fun!!!

To piggy back on this a little, we are going Mid May (w/ 2 kids 8 & 5) for a total of 10 days with 5 days in the park.

I would love to get feedback on the 5 day experience with any tips/tricks the members here may have.
