Title – Number crunching (aka guessing game)!

Sorry guys, I’m always popping up with threads frantically trying to start planning my trip for June 2011, but until Disney release their brochure and offers there are just too many unknown elements.

However, I want to try and have some kind of idea of budget because we are putting money aside for this already.

Important question – how much is a Fantasy AP with shareholders discount? From DLRPMagic, it says 129 euros, which I then took 15% off to make 109 euros. Expedia currency converter tells me this is around £95. Can this possibly be right??

IF this is right then the total cost of staying offsite for us for 2 nights 16th-18th June would be £330 (current Expedia prices for the Kyriad plus 2 x AP)

Basically, this is a budget trip. So we’ll be staying onsite only if we can get 2 nights at the Cheyenne for less than £330 (I think I’d rather stay at the Kyriad than the Santa Fe) I know the advantage of offsite would be having the AP but there is no guarantee we would be able to go back within a year although I certainly will if I can!

Is this in any way a realistic figure for 2 nights onsite in mid June?Obviously I'm hoping for 40% off...

DLRP magic's prices of the AP's are seemingly incorrect. (I noticed when I was researching the Dream AP) Although in french, the Fantasy pass is 139e each -15% discount.

:-)

Thanks! I thought it seemed pretty cheap, although in reality it's not much dearer than I originally calculated. So with this real price, 2 APs would cost £207. Or £194.45 for one AP and one regular ticket (it's taken long enough to convince my boyfriend to come with me this time, getting him an AP would be ridiculous!)
So the price to beat with actual figures from the Kyriad (which it is possible to book now for June) is £326.03!
To beat that, Disney would need to have 40% off at the Cheyenne for green dates in June (based on last year's brochure) and not raise the brochure prices.
Looks likely to be the Kyriad for us then. :rotfl:
I keep saying it, but its SO annoying that Disney wait so long to release their bookings. Some of us like/need to plan a bit further in advance than they allow for!

You could always provisionally book Kyriad just in case you don't get a better deal? bookings.com and eurobookings.com (essentially the same company) do offer fully cancellable rates. I have done this, and cancelled without paying anything and with no trouble at all. When the June rates do come out, are you going to investigate the booking the room for 1 adult, then add the other on as room only if you do get yourself an AP?

I had thought about this but not sure if single supplement cancels out saving?
Good idea about the kyriad, the good thing is our dates are quite flexible we can go anytime in June so I don't want to book flights yet until I see Disney offers.
Think I'll book the kyriad at a cancellable rate on the date with cheapest flights. Will make me feel better!
Thanks so much for your help :goodvibes

Remember the Fantasy pass has balck out days so you need to check they don't clash with your dates

Thank you - do you know if there is anywhere online I can see the blackout dates for 2011?
Never mind- found them! There are only 3 days in June 2011 blacked out so we should be able to work around these.
I'm also hoping after our visit in 4 weeks time that my mum will say we simply have to return for Christmas season next year. This would give more weight to the AP case...

If it helps at all, our early May and early June trips, we've always gone offsite and paid less than Disney onsite - in fact thats why we went offsite in those periods in the first place, couldn't afford to stay onsite.

Thanks DLPDaft, that does help - this is what I'm prepared for. I do like staying onsite but not sure I'm prepared to pay loads more for it!
Plus the idea of an AP is very alluring....I'm sure I'd find a way to squeeze in some more trips lol.

Update and mini bit of excitement for some things waaaay in advance - was discussing the pros and cons of AP vs onsite with my mum, and told her about the nifty trick allowing you to add extra people to rooms for next to nothing.
She says if I get an AP in June 2011 we (she, my sister and I) would almost certainly go back in early 2012 for another 5 night stay at a better price. 20th anniversary, no less!
A friend also said we should go for a couple of days next Halloween, if we both get decent jobs after graduating :rotfl:
So I am decided - it's an AP for me! Think I'm going to book the Kyriad and Easyjet flights when we return from our November trip :cool1: *** I know I'll want a new ticker!

Hiya Lola, where did you find the black out dates and can u explain the adding on an extra person thing - on or offsite? thanks

If you click the link posted by hazelj up there it takes you to the french website and the blackout dates are there. My french was adequate for navigating this - if you don't know any french let me know and I'll try to help!
As for the extra person thing, it's onsite - there is another thread explaining this in detail which I will try to find. EDIT here is the link! http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2502629
Basically you book your Disney package for a certain number of people and can turn up with extra people and pay only room tax (a few euros) for them on arrival.
E.g. if we book a package just for my mum and sister, they will get their accomodation and park tickets included. Then we turn up and pay the few euros for me and the three of us stay in the room. I don't need park tickets as I'll already have my AP.
Only works up to the occupancy limit i.e. up to four people per room, and you would need AP or separate park tickets.
As far as I know many DISers have done this successfully!

haha lola, this sounds like a plan!!!
thanks so much for your help
