Renting points is awesome, but there are some things that are different. Limited mouse keeping (I like that but some don't). No canceling. Payment up front. You can go onto David's website, they are a sponsor here, and calculate how much it would cost using their points calculator. Then you can see if it is worth it or not. I am already a timeshare owner so I am used to that stuff but some folks don't like it.

Thanks, looking at it, a Savannah Studio would be a huge savings, some things say there isn't that much storage? Also, how are the pullouts? My boys can sleep together...but in case one of us gets stuck on it (maybe I can stick my husband on it if needed!)

The 1 bedroom doesn't look like it would save much. The Club level is tempting since it isn't much more, but then it might not be savannah view....more to think about!!

I thought the pullout was comfy. It is like a memory foam type mattress and it didn't have a bar like most pullouts. The kids slept on it so I don't know how it would have been if I had to sleep in it every night.

I think cl goes pretty quick so it might not be available. We had just come from a 2 bedroom so I felt tight in a studio. But I always feel tight in a studio. It has a little kitchenette. I think there was a dresser to put clothes. We only stayed two nights so I didn't unpack everything.

Thanks, I did the request form at David's. I know it's pretty late so I'm not planning on them having availability, but well see. The boys are still young so a studio might be tight, but cost wise I 1bedroom wouldn't work....plus I don't like the idea of the 2 of them being in the room with the balcony door !

No, you haven't confused me. ;) Thank you for clearing this up for me and I feel better that the standard view in Jambo House is larger than the value studio and same as Kidani. :cool1: That was one of the reasons why we reserved it. We felt the value was a little on the small size. My son wants the pool view since that is where they stayed last time and they really liked that location for the convenience. They didn't do DVC last time and stayed in a regular room, so we weren't sure about the studios.

Thanks for your help! :)

Glad I was able to help! I don't know if you made any room requests yet, but you should definitely include "pool view" as a request! :thumbsup2

So i heard back from David's and they have 6 nights available at AKV-savannah view...so we are waiting to hear back about getting points.

My question is (not sure if I should post somewhere else?) I think that we will do a RO for the first night. We are planning on 6 day tickets. I know that we will be switching rooms, but how does that work with KTTW card? Or does DVC have something else? If I buy tickets separate will they put them on the card and can I keep the same card all week?
TIA!

With DVC we have never been able to tie our tickets on our room key but that might be because we have PAP?

It is possible to add a ticket to the Key to the World card, but there is a restriction as to the number of days that can be added. I want to say the maximum is 10 days. I had a 14 day pass when I wanted to do this and was advised that this could not be added.

I booked a room for my DB and SiL through DVC last year and they were able to add their park tickets to the room card, 7 day passes.

Ahhh thanks Corinna I have often wondered why this could not be done! Now I know our tickets have always been either AP or 14 days! Ohhh I have wondered that for years :-) that should change now hopefully with the magicband!

I did request to be near each other since I was told studios don't connect, but they want us to wait until a few weeks before our trip for requests. We are adding the dining plan later, so I will ask them to request pool view and to be near each other when we add the DP. I hope that's not too late by then. They want us to add DP no later than 60 days out, so hopefully that should be enough time.

I'm so excited that we are going back AKL again and this time as DVC! May is a long time away and I don't know how we are going to wait that long! I may have to book a shorter trip in January to get my Disney fix! ;)

Thanks again!

Thank you all!
We are staying in a Savannah view studio in Kidani! Very excited! We just need one night at the beginning, trying to decide if we should just do AK or somewhere else for the night.

And we will only have 6 day passes, we are doing LegoLand one day...and I don't know why I was thinking if you get tickets elsewhere that they are big paper things, but I assume they are credit card size to go through the turnstile? In that case I guess it wouldn't be needed to add to my room card.

We were in a DVC studio last weekend.. We DID have a connecting door (5577) it was just in the entry.. Where regular rooms have the chest.
