Just a change in dates, to update the list.

Still staying CL starting on Oct 20, 2013, but checking out the 24th instead of the 27th.

Our APs run out on the 22nd, so rather than ponying up for an extra few days in tickets (or hanging around the resort with no park access, which I think would drive me nuts), we decided to end with a short 3-night cruise on the Disney Dream from the 24-27th. AKL CL spoiled us so much, we booked CL on the Dream, too.

That should be the Sunset Savanna. I was talking to DD10 (my cohort in planning Disney trips). We both agree we should just stay on the Pembe Savanna if it makes my husband happy. He really doesn't request anything when it comes to these trips, and the savanna is the only point about which he's expressed an opinion. It's not as if we can't see zebras and giraffes from other parts of the resort.

Agreed. Sometimes happy spouses are more important than zebras and giraffes! Especially if it makes them more content during the rest of the trip.

I have a rope drop question. If we are going to MK for rope drop what time should I be at Kidani bus stop? I am thinking that we should be there by 7:15?

You will have to ask the desk what time the busses start running. We just came home today(from being there all week) and with a regular park opening of 9, I was told they started running at 8. We never went to morning EMH, though.

We are home from WDW. Had a fabulous trip, as always. The Lodge is more beautiful than ever. I hope I can get back there within the year

There's my room on the left (#5406) from my first AKV stay in January 2008!! It's a Jambo "standard studio" (pool view)! I loved that room!

I didn't see any when I was there sorry. Just single bottles from what I noticed. We got ours at walmart.

I was reading on another resort's page (CSR) about the possibility of "borrowing" a microwave for the duration of one's resort stay. According to the other thread, one can simply request a microwave at the front desk, and if they have one available, they will loan it to you.

Has anyone had experience with this at AKL? (not staying in the villas, just a "standard" room at Jambo house)

I have never heard of this...I am not sure where you could plug it since it would probably need a GFI

DD and I are staying at AKL for the first time July 23-25th - can't wait!!!!

We usually stay at the Dolphin, POFQ, POP or the Poly, so this will be a nice change for us. I just moved down to Naples, FL from Vermont and have been using my Florida resident annual pass like crazy! LOL! DD is still in college in New Hampshire, but I expect (HOPE) she'll be visiting a LOT!

Hopefully we'll fall in love with AKL like you all!

Hi All,
At Pop Century the lines waiting for busses were just that...lines that were roped off and you had no choice but to "line up" BEHIND the people who were there first (makes sense to me!). At Port O. Riverside (ugh I hate even typing the name of THAT place!) everyone crowded around like a heard of buffalo and there was no consideration for those who got there first...the people literally would knock you out of the way to get on the bus, and didn't care if you were the first ones there or not. What is it like at Kidani? Is there a real line or is it a cattle call?

Cattle call I guess.. But people are usually respectful of who has been waiting longer
