it was so hot last week but we never found the pool over crowded..I did almost have a smack down with a guy who threw 6 towels on chairs just as my DD was putting her stuff on a chair. He challenged me, but mama bear won! He then disappeared and I didn;t see him or his wife again. reserved 6 chairs and went over by the hot tub

ps..here is our pool day last wednesday.. this was about 12 noon

:cool1: Oh so awesome!! My heart, my heart! We are staying in SV CL...it is a splurge for us! I love your pictures! That pool is calling my name...it's a no parks vacation. Thank you for the pics!:goodvibes

We did put in a request to be close to the Timon elevators. If we don't get it that's ok. Just happy to be there. It's been 4 years since we have visited the World.

Hi, all:
Confused as usual. We have CL and our TA asked for a room near elevator. So, we would like a King bed, but most important -- we don't want to walk 1/4 mile each way back and forth to the lounge. I cannot tell from the map the location and we really cannot walk too much. I've been reading about the long, long walk some folks have from their room to the club lounge. Can someone suggest a more centrally located room that is still CL? As mentioned in previous posts, we will spend most if not all our time at the property and the lounge looks like a good place to hang out between sightings from our balcony.

Thanks for your help. This is an awesome group.

I would ask for a lobby overlook or have the TA note the "close to lobby" location on your reservation. Mine did this for me and I had Giraffe Trail and it was about 30 second walk to the lobby and perfect when tired!

I don't know where I am going to get since I usually request lobby level but since I will be in DVC, I could be anywhere. It's only one night, so I think I can handle the walk! LOL

...probably 5th floor - Giraffe Trail.....

"Deluxe" is what all the DVC rooms are called! :confused3 Did you book a studio, 1-bedroom, 2-bedroom........ they're all classified as "deluxe"! Sneaky of DVC, wasn't it?!!! Still, you'll be at Jambo - that's exciting! :thumbsup2

....my brother stayed in a Studio room when we went in April:

....it was almost above Jiko, in Giraffe Trail....but ask him about it...

That is where we were..right above the roof of Jiko..it was so lovely to look at the stream and pool each morning.

My DD was disappointed by the pool view.. she really missed our typical savannah view..so she will be happy in 29 days!!!

I know, right!! It's gets longer when it's 12:30 AM and you have been at the parks all day and you are carrying a sleeping child!!

That it does. Our youngest decided that very vacation that the stroller was an instrument of torture and only by being carried would be make it through the vacation. Since she wasn't walking yet, she was toted around. I had serious mom arms by the end of the week.

As best I can tell, the elevators at Kidani are by the bus transportation (Timon), closer to the lobby and pool (Rafiki) and far, far away (Pumba). Does that sound right? If I were to request a room close to Rafiki, we'd get the sunset savannah. Timon would also be close to the lobby, but on the other side. Pumba would be either savannah, but probably farther away than I'd like. Closer to our trip, I'll have to ask my husband if he really has a preference for Pembe. He's not as Disney-crazed as I am, so I can give on the view. But I'd really rather not be so far out from the lobby.

Looking forward to our first stay at "Home". Kidani October 24-26.

We requested close to Timon elevators so here's hoping we get it. To us close to busses is the most important. What savanna does that put us on? We have a 1 bdr SV.

That should be the Sunset Savanna. I was talking to DD10 (my cohort in planning Disney trips). We both agree we should just stay on the Pembe Savanna if it makes my husband happy. He really doesn't request anything when it comes to these trips, and the savanna is the only point about which he's expressed an opinion. It's not as if we can't see zebras and giraffes from other parts of the resort.
