Like I said, it totally depends on local laws. Miami is probably quite a bit more relaxed.

Hello, wow I wish I had only 3 more days till our stay at AKL . It would be great if you had some pics of the gift store in AKL, I know this might sound strange but i'm getting gift baskets made for my family on our arrival & i'd really like to include some AKL resort Merchandise. Thanks

Yes, I have a request. Would you please find out if they have diet tonic with quinine in the store? I need to drink 8 ounces a day for cramps and am diabetic so need diet. It seems that only the better brands have genuine quinine in them. We will be on CL and are going on the Fantasy for a seven-day following our stay in AKL. We will need to purchase it for the three day CL stay plus the 7-day cruise. Sure would appreciate any suggestions.

Good afternoon everyone! I am staying at Animal Kingdom for 3 days in the second week of July and I simply could not afford the Savanna view. I picked pool view as my hubby and I are just staying on resort for those 3 days. Please help me figure out whether I should switch to standard view or stay pool view. I want to be near the lobby/restaurants...it just seems the the pool view block of rooms that the Disney gal suggested (2451 to 2486) from the map I have...seem to be pretty far away...I am so confused. I also saw that the pool view rooms are on the zebra trail? Help all you AKL experts.... I have no clue what to request.... suggestions? Do the rooms all have balconies? Does the floor really matter? Thankyou all in advance for your help and suggestions....I have tried to read all of this forum, but there's so much information, my head is spinning! Thanks!

Pool view rooms are definitely so much better than standard view rooms. The pool and restaurants are located on the Zebra Trail side of the lodge. All rooms have balconies. The lobby is on the third floor. You should request a room close to the lobby so you won't have far to walk.

All AKL rooms have balconies. I don't have a map handy so I can't answer the room number question, but asking for a room close to the lobby would be better than requesting certain room numbers. Third or 4th floors are both great, but I really liked being on the third floor. You can just walk to the lobby--no elevator to wait for.

We are booked in Sept! So excited! Anyways we are arriving from Germany, flight gets in at 6pm. We figure if all goes well we aill be at AKL around 8pm (car rental). My mom wants to hit the pool right away to ring in the vacation.

I believe Mara is near the pool? Or some other QS?? Will we be able to eat pool side 9pmish??

Also what is the closet Grocery near AKl. Coming from airport. Or better yet, tips on airport to AKL and making a Target or Walmart stop.. Are these the super ones with full grocery???

Stick w/ your pool view for sure. That's what I have booked this trip too
DisneyDmbNut is at AKL now in a pool view and requested(I think) Giraffe Trail, close to lobby and lobby level (3d floor).
Pool views are actually going to tend to be much more "convenient" locations than many of the savannah views, due to the location of the pool
(see map below. Zebra Trail and Giraffe Trail have pool view rooms.)
