The view actually doesn't bother us...we're park command types anyways and it's a short trip this time. I just don't want people walking back and forth outside our patio/balcony to get to the buses!

I've never ever been upgraded at Disney. I doubt it will happen this time, either. But I'll send you some for your trip so you do!! 23 Days, wish my trip was that soon!

Ok I am Jumping in. Headed to Kidani in 51 days. Stayed at Jambo before but this is our first AKV trip. So excited.

We checked in yesterday around 1pm. We did online checkin, our room was ready when we arrived. All our requests were met. We booked a pool view. King bed, room 4430 Zebra Trail, nice location close to elevator, short walk to lobby, Mara, pool and Transportation.

I will post some pictures of the room soon.

This is nice to read. Maybe I'll do online checkin for our upcoming trip. Last time I did (at the GF in Jan.), I did not get my requests at all

Heading to AKL next week!!! We'll be there may 23 - 27. It's our first time staying at AKL, booked a standard room and requested a king bed. Hoping our view isn't of the bus stop or the HVAC.

Ok I am Jumping in. Headed to Kidani in 51 days. Stayed at Jambo before but this is our first AKV trip. So excited.

Much of what is posted here will be about Jambo House. While many of us love Kidani, Jambo will always be first in our hearts!

Here is a link to Kidani. Nnote - it is one of the first ones I ever found - 2008? - and the link has a misspelling in it (Kindani! )

All rooms at Kidani start with "7" (Jambo floors go up to 6). There are 2 savannas at Kidani: Sunset (which is also shared with Jambo) and Pembe.

Floor 2 is the lobby level at Kidani (floor 3 is lobby level at Jambo).

Any other questions, feel free to ask!

We're booked a 1BR Kidani Savanna view, and we're renting a car. Is there a location you can recommend for a request that would probably be most convenient? (And we definitely want the Sunset savanna, I know that.). Thanks!

Not sure what area would be most convenient for you. Do you mean for access to the car, for the lobby, pool, health club, elevators? Do you have a floor preference? Floors 2 or 3 would be my preference. I think you will feel closer to the animals.

You might request to be on the side closest to Jambo House (although I'm not sure how to word that exactly! ). The only Savanna view in that half of the resort is Sunset Savanna. There is parking under the building and there are several elevators that take you directly to the parking area.

There are 7 pods of rooms off the lobby (on Jambo side). The elevators are between the 2nd and 3rd pods and the 5th and 6th pods. You might want to add "close to elevators" or "close to lobby" as an additional request.

On second thought, it might be safer to request "Sunset Savanna", then add your secondary requests!

I wish I had a simpler answer for you.

I put in a room request for close to the Timon elevators. Is there a map somewhere that shows where the timon elevators are. I read somewhere that would be my best bet but I don't remember where that was lol.

I haven't seen anything that shows the elevator names, but if memory serves...... the elevator between pods 2 & 3 on the Jambo side of the resort is the Zazu Elevator. I rode it often!

I've been MIA on this thread so please forgive me if this has been asked/answered recently.

For 1BRs:

How much laundry detergent do they provide, do I need to bring more?

And do they happen to have a blender in the kitchen?

Are you staying cash or on points? There will be a 1 load box (it's traditionally been Tide powder) in the room.
If staying on points I have read conflicting reports whether it is replaced on T&T day. I didn't think it typically did, but I could be wrong. I know they will traditionally replace anything that helps keep the villa clean at any time (dish soap, paper towel, tissue paper towel). If it's used to keep you clean (towels, toiletries) this is replaced on T&T and full clean days. I am not 100% where coffee and laundry detergent fall here.
I have not even a guess what happens if you're paying cash.
So I would bring more or it's available in the laundry rooms for purchase for $1 box. (Sorry, did I just make that clear as mud )??!!

There is not a blender in the villa, but you can ask for one from housekeeping and hopefully one will be available for your use (I'm not sure how many they have available or how popular that request is).
