Ha!! I'm actually from MO and grew up on a farm. I was never much of a farm girl. I do much better in NYC :). I live right outside the city so I don't see much wildlife...Just how I like it :). I'll get my wildlife at akl :)

Right outside. Jersey city.

To keep on topic. Is the face painting at akl "scary" at all? Dd6 is very girly. Will she still like it?9

....they can pretty much do whatever she may like....also, your DD might want to try out the hair-braiding by the pool, although I don't know if they still do that...

....I DISAGREE!

....respectfully, of course!

In our experience a couple of weeks ago every trip to Magic Kingdom took a minimum of 40 minutes each way. So, to return for an afternoon break & then go back to the park in the evening would mean at least 2 hours on a bus - and that's cutting it to 30 minutes each way.

But, we are park commandos and two hours of lost park time makes me .

So, Kim & I are both right! ::yes:: :flower3:

It just depends on your travel style.
We're so crazy we walked/ran from Epcot to the back of DHS to ride TSM in 20 minutes one night because we didn't think the boat would go fast enough! ;)
We made it just as they closed the park for the night & a boat didn't pass us as we were walking, so we made the right call.

Staying at akl for the first time in less than two weeks!!! Sooooo excited. Been dreaming of staying here. We got a pool view and a dinner at boma. Dh is still griping at the extra cost. But i figure once he gets there he will stop lol.
Any of you guys have a pool view..how was it??

Heavenly!!!! Ask for a higher floor when you check in if you want a good view, or a lower level if you want an easier walk to the Mara, pool & hot tubs - but you may not see much of the pool. The foliage is high is several places.

You're going to LOVE it & if your DH is like mine he will complain until he gets there and then refuse to stay anywhere else ever again!!! :cloud9:

Awesome thanks :)
He says he would rather spend the money elsewhere than a room. And i agree to a point... but this place looks well worth it. Truly cant wait to be walking into the lobby for the first time.

It made me cry when we walked in for the first time.

....WOW! Unbelieveable! :sad2: ....in all my visits to WDW, I don't think that I've EVER had wait times like THAT! Why do you think it was excessively long? :confused3

The only times we have ever had waits like Tracey is talking about have been over Christmas. And I mean "Christmas" not the weeks before or after.

In our experience overall, the longest wait times for buses seems to be coming out of the MK. We never have had waits like those. Think they ought to figure out a better system, don't you??

When we stayed at AKL for the 1st time, one of the things that I was most nervous about was the wait times for the buses b/c I had heard they were terrible. Luckily for us, we ran into no issue, and I hope that is the case when we stay there in June too....

I think coming out of MK at closing time, no matter what resort you stay at you are going to have some sort of wait. Seems like the only time we really waited for a bus when we stayed at AKL was going to and from DTD.

We had amazing luck with the buses last time we were there - nearly every time, one was pulling in just as we walked up. The only bus we've always had issues with is the one to DTD, but I think that's consistent with all the resorts.

My husband is extremely frugal, and he wasn't excited about the cost of a deluxe resort. But after the first trip to AKL, he told me that any time we went to Disney, he was all for staying there. I might have squealed a bit when he said that.

I'm so excited to have found the disboards! I have been looking through the threads and the pictures of AKL (and finding out I could change resorts without penalty, and apply the discounts) made us switch from standard little mermaid at AofA to AKL! It was only a $300 difference for our 4 nights as well, so I couldn't pass it up. Now I'm off to find everything I can about activities, etc.
