Hi all, staying in a one bedroom savanna view Kidani for one night to try the resort before heading to the poly. I did online check in and requested sunset savanna, that's giraffes right? Should I check off something else as well? I would really like a lower floor to be more eye level with the animals, yes, no? Since we are only there for one night we really want to soak up the resort/animals/views so this is important! Thanks in advance for any input...we are 5, myself, dh and 3 dd's ages 7, 8, 9! Thanks!!!!

Yes - if you want giraffes, the Sunset savannah is the one you want. Pembe has okapi. We had the Pembe savannah our last trip and I wasn't thrilled with it. The okapi were interesting and the red river hogs were adorable (at least I thought so). But the savannah itself is really unattractive, in my opinion. The fence and road behind it didn't do much for me. My husband, on the other hand, preferred it because we couldn't see any other balconies from ours. He said it was like having the place to ourselves. Next time, I'm requesting and hoping for the Sunset savannah. DH and I can take turns choosing the savannah, right?

Grandma Rainbow - Zawadi Marketplace DOES have tonic water (that contains quinine) but NOT diet tonic.

lfortin16 - I asked after not seeing any and they do NOT have logo beach towels. Boohoo (they did last year)

tarcc there are lots if items for gift baskets!

And here is an "unusual pic from the skybridge", psac. Lol. Someone needed a nap.

Oh, and our standard, pool view room has a DVD player. I was surprised.

Yes. Make every second count! It's the best place on earth ( that we have experienced ) . Have fun!

Yes, if you did not request to be close to the lobby, be prepared to walk!! A walk to the lobby and back is 1/2 a mile from our room. Literally, we counted!! And you will want to stay here forever!! We have been here since Sunday we love it!!!

Agreed! I have my own issues, I can't fall asleep in any public place, so the thought of sleeping in a lobby is completely unfathomable to me

Yes, if you did not request to be close to the lobby, be prepared to walk!! A walk to the lobby and back is 1/2 a mile from our room. Literally, we counted!! And you will want to stay here forever!! We have been here since Sunday we love it!!!

We have a 1BR reserved for November. Can we put in requests when we check in at the 60 day mark or should we call in asap and have a CM enter the room request manually?

I should have checked the distance for us last January. I swear, the walk from Jambo House to Kidani seemed shorter than the walk from the lobby to our room.

Well...I was feeling like a trader because I booked the GF for my stay next month..but today I got a Deluxe Jambo Savannah view booked!!! Rented points from a friend.

So...help me with DVC..what is Deluxe?

It is definitely better to have your requests added by a CM. A quick phone call should take care of it!

It's a studio.. It's only one night before DD goes to camp in eustis Florida. Since we spent last week in a pool view.. I thought I would get her a savannah to watch the animals.
Are the pull out beds comfortable?

I've never slept in one, but DD19 has on several occasions and said it's comfy.

OH I am so excited!! Love hearing this....15 days til Disney and 12 til AKL! How's the pool?! Is it refreshing? Is it really crowded?

it was so hot last week but we never found the pool over crowded..I did almost have a smack down with a guy who threw 6 towels on chairs just as my DD was putting her stuff on a chair. He challenged me, but mama bear won! He then disappeared and I didn;t see him or his wife again. reserved 6 chairs and went over by the hot tub

ps..here is our pool day last wednesday.. this was about 12 noon

here was my room..it is the red balcony between the 2 green (in the shadow)
