Great idea



I don't know about Wii but the rooms seem to be scattered all over the 4th floor, Arusha view. I've been halfway down Zebra Trail several times. But those views are so great that, personally, I wouldn't want to be very close to the lobby.
There is a "secret" staircase up to the lounge that you can take from the 4th floor, FYI, near the front of the resort and on the Ostrich Trail side. Right about here:

We almost always use it instead of the elevator.

We always took the elevator, and we were in the zebra trail side, so we never saw that fence. Really cool theming as opposed to just a normal door.

For the OP, we were basically at the upper right-hand corner of the map above on the 4th floor, and it was a bit of a walk, but we never felt it was really TOO far. Not a big deal really.

I was wondering if anyone had a link to the gift shops in Kidani or Jambo House.
I bought princess towels for my girls, but thought animal kingdom towels would be cool for the boys.

Does anyone know if hey sell these??

There is no online link to the resort gift shops. The best you could do is contact Merchandise Guest Services and see if they could help you. We have decided last minute to get into pin trading... Problem is, leaving in two days makes it impossible to get the pins shipped to us. I found shipper in the US that supposedly has non scrappers for a good price. Anyway, if I have them ship it to the resort can I use usps or will it get held somewhere because USPS doesn't know Disney addresses? Fedex is about $25 to ship in, but USPS priority mail is only $6.

Hi all. I have a question. I did online check in yesterday. We are staying at Kidani on rented points. I requested to be close to the Timon elevators but I noticed on my request it just said close to elevators? Is that a problem or do you think the " Timon "part is still in the computers just not on the online check in page. Just curious. Because we are renting points I can't call to be sure and I would hate to call the member and have him check.

Just wondered if anyone had an idea about this.

....it seems that there has been some controversy about this lately, but the logical thing would be that guests staying at AKL get access to ALL its facilities PERIOD.

The leaflet I got at check-in in May which is titled "Directory of Services & Resort Map Animal Kingdom Lodge Jambo House" specifically lists under Recreation the Samawati Springs Pool at Kidani.

This to me is a clear indication that the Jambo House guests can use the pool.

This will be our second time staying at Kidani, first time was in may of 2012 and at that time we were told we could use both the pools at Jambo and kidani, I don't know if it has changed but that was the rule then.

We stayed at Jambo a few weeks ago. The front desk staff pointed out both pools on the resort map when we checked in and noted that lots of kids prefer the Kidani slide. We took the internal resort shuttle from Jambo to Kidani in our swim suits and talked to the driver about how we were going specifically to use the pool. We got off of the shuttle and asked the staff member standing out front how to get to the pool and they were happy to help us. We then took the internal shuttle back to Jambo and the driver handed us towels to sit on in the van.

They not only allowed us to use the pool, they helped to make it easier for us. If they don't allow it now, it would have changed just in the past few weeks.

I just booked 2 nights at AKL - August 9-11 Getting in early on the 9th, and the 10th will be a resort day - swimming all day long!! I cannot wait.

We did this last August and we just loved having that first couple days of calmness. This will probably be our new type of vacation - relax at beginning at a deluxe and then hit it hard for 10 days at Pop.

So excited! 59 days!

Did you resolve the ground floor room right at check-in? Glad it wasn't a problem to be put on 3d floor
