Holy Smokes!! DH came home today and said his vacation in August was changed so there goes our CL reservation.
Now the only time he can get time off is....... next week!!!!! So after a crazy few hours of changing reservations we are now booked at AKL for June 13-17. Had to give up CL but got an Arusha View Bunk Bed room. I had really wanted to try CL. Oh well maybe next time. I managed to get most of our ADR and even scored Ohana!

Can't believe I will be there in a week.

I'm going to do online check in. Please help my over stressed mind with any suggestions for a Arusha Bunk Bed room request?

You've got a great attitude and you're going to have a GREAT time!
Arusha Savanna is the best

I wouldn't make any requests on-line. But that's b/c I haven't had much luck w/ it. I use on-line checkin only to be sure I have a room ready when I am arriving early - but I've gotten pretty lame views. (Having a room ready is not guaranteed, of course, but it has always worked for me.)

You might call and ask for Zebra Trail to be added to your res. (same side of resort as pool and restaurants)

If you don't want to have to walk much within the resort, ask for/select "lobby level" (3d floor) and/or "close to lobby". Otherwise, let the AKL gods place you and if you really don't like your room, ask to be moved before calling for your luggage

I will always do 7 months out for the end of Easter time. Is savannah view hard to get, an does cl have savannah view? Can u pick jambo or kidani?

You can pick Kidani or Jambo, depending on availability. Most times, at 7 months out, you can get AKL. Not sure if Easter would be different, but guessing you might get something. I believe CL only has side savannah views, so not classified savannas. I could be wrong, but I think that's what I read. But getting CL at 7 months would involve some good luck, and during Easter, I think it would be pretty difficult to get. From what I hear, it often goes pretty close to 11 month mark.

Jill, Welcome Home and Congrats on DVC!!!! We don't own at AKL either, but often end up booking there!

Savannah view at both Jambo & Kidani is usually available at 7 months. Club Level is a whole different story! It is possible to get a day or 2 here and there CL, but it's getting more and more challenging!

The only DVC CL villas are on the 6th floor of Jambo -- the Lounge floor. There aren't many. Half have Savanna views and the other half are pool view. Not the best views certainly, but the convenience to the Lounge can't be beat! (There is no Club Level at Kidani; nor at any other DVC resort.)

May I ask what that drink is?

3/4 ounce Malibu Rum
3/4 ounce Melon Liquor
2 ounces Sour or Daiquiri Mix
4 ounces Pineapple Juice

Shake together over ice. Splash with 1/4 ounce of Chambord.
Garnish with an orange slice and cherry.

It is sweet and delicious.
