When I made all our ADR's for this trip, I told them 3 and a highchair. Well, ds will turn 7 months while we are there and is not sitting up yet I don't think he will be doing it in time, we leave 2 weeks from today. I had planned on taking our 2 Mac strollers, but now am wondering if we need to take the travel system that has the stroller and infant carrier with it. I hate that big, bulky thing and do not want to lug it around the airport, parks, etc.

We are staying off property and renting a car and I don't want to take something that big with us. Should I just stick with the Mac's and then we will have to hold him in restaurants? (not looking forward to that). He will be fine in the Mac (techno xt), it reclines all the way, leg extenders, etc., but I just am worried about when we are in restaurants on property and can't bring the stroller in.

WWYD???? Also, has anyone tried the connector thingies with 2 Maclarens? We have the techno and a triumph. Thanks!!!

Is he trying to sit up at all? I ask because if he can sit in a highchair, but is not steady you could always pack the highchair around him with a couple of blankets..that worked for us when the girls were not sitting up really steady yet. Belt him in then put a blanket behind him and maybe one to the side or even both sides of him.
That way you wont have to worry about the big travel system and he will feel like a big boy sitting in a highchair at the table llike the rest of the family

You could ask to bring your stroller into the restaurants (it won't be much of an issue in the counter service places, people do bring strollers in them all the time).
My youngest child has cerebral palsy and was not able to sit securely in a regular high chair or by herself for a long time. We used a thing that looks similar to this:
Secure-Me-Seat. Since the picture doesn't show it in use in a high chair, I can't see if it is just the same, but it looks similar to what we had. I don't know if this one works on a regular chair, but we had one you could put on the back of a regular chair and it held the child from falling sideways or forward and the child's back was supported by the back of the chair.
