Hi, everyone! This is my first official PTR and I am hoping it will be a good way for me to "hurry along" the next 25 days and not burst from excitement! (note- I did start a PTR for our last big trip but it got locked before I could update it- this won't happen again since I don't have that long to wait! Just had to add that in case anyone read my last one
)
Ok, A little introduction to who will be a part of this trip...
Me (Stacey) & DH (Philip)- two 28 year olds who are really just two big kids.
Our photoshoot at the GF last year:
Being our usual silly selves:
We love all things Disney and would spend every waking minute at WDW if we could! We both had visited WDW a few times growing up and in college with friends and family, but our shared obsession with Disney began in October 2003 when we went for our 4 day/3 night (it was SOOO short- we knew so little then!) honeymoon. In the 5 1/2 years we have been married, we have gone to Disney World 5 times and Disneyland once. We live 17 hours away from Orlando (in TX), so it is quite a tribute to our obsession that we have gone so often.
We had an awesome 10 day trip last September during free dining to celebrate our 5 year anniversary (we somehow totally missed hurricane Ike as it left our town with out power for 13 days- 10 of which we were gone-couldn't have planned that better if we tried
) and we went ahead and did a bounce back for a two week free dining trip in September 2009.
We love MK at night!
Us at MNSSHP (I was Tink and DH was a Lost Boy)
I could hardly stand the thought of waiting a whole year to go back so my very sweet DH agreed to go back for the week of Thanksgiving and we lucked out with free dining again! It was another awesome trip and I always love seeing all the Christmas decorations.
A few pics from our Thanksgiving trip...
So, after the Christmas season passed, I of course was back to excitedly planning and thinking about our upcoming September trip. At the end of February, after a few weeks of feeling "not quite myself" I had a surprise that will change all future Disney trips- I discovered I was about 4 weeks pregnant! We had not been planning this, but we have always wanted kids so I was very excited and of course a bit shocked. Now it was time to figure out a way to share the news with DH. I could hardly hold it in long enough to make any big "reveal" so I settled on running over to Target and buying two bibs- one in pink and one in blue that said "I love Daddy." I wrapped them up and told him I had picked him up a gift since he was having a bad day (which he was). After he opened them, he just quickly looked up at me, then back down, then at me again and just stared at me with a look of total shock. I said, "Say something!" and he jumped up and hugged me and told me how happy he was. So, YAY! We are going to be parents!!!
I guess this is our baby's very first trip- I hope he/she loves it as much as we do!
Well, after sharing the news with all of our ecstatic family and close friends (this is the first grandchild for both our parents), I did what any one who loves Disney would do- reschedule our upcoming trip (prioritites, right?!
) With a Halloween due date, I was pretty sure I did not want to go to Disney 8 months pregnant in the September heat so I told DH, we need to move our trip to some time much sooner. We decided on just a 6 day trip in early May. Only 6 days this time to save money and May because of the reported lower crowds, better weather, and I would be in my second trimester (I have been very sick so far). We made the changes and began making ADRs right away. This was all about a month ago and I was so excited with only two months to wait after thinking I had 8 months to wait!
I know this will be a very different trip for us, but there are only a few attractions in each park that I won't be able to ride. I love all the thrill rides so I am a little bummed, but its not a big deal in the grand scheme of things. DH can use the single rider lines and I am going to buy a Hidden Mickey guide to use while I am waiting on him. I have actually been thinking of taking black and white pics of hidden mickeys as a way to decorate the nursery. I wish we knew what we were having before we go but I will only be 14 weeks when we leave so we'll have to wait about 6 weeks more to know.
Me just last week after our first ultrasound:
Well, I will come back later with details of where we are staying and eating, etc. Oh, but before I forget, in totally Stacey & Philip fashion, what begins as an "x amount of days" trip never stays that way and our 6 day trip has slowly grown to an 11 day trip! We figure, it our last trip for a long time without kids, so we are going for as long as we possibly can!
Thanks for reading!
