"Now That's What I'm Talkin' 'Bout!"- Our 1st DVC stay-May 2010-Wrap Up 9/23

Great update! Sorry Chef's wasn't great-- one of the few bad reviews I've heard!
That skillet looks sooo yummy-- bet you're glad you didn't skip out on WCC!
The Sesame Street cake is absolutely adorable! The characters look perfect.

Sorry to hear you guys had such a bad experience at Chefs, but luckily you were at least able to see Remy.

That cake is amazing..you are so talented!

Hello my friend, I've missed you:hug:

That segway tour sounds like a lot of fun! I didn't love the Grand Marnier slushie either so I quickly downed it and grabbed a Grey Goose Slushie:lmao:

That's too bad about your meal at Les Chef du France....Remy is cute though isn't he?

Hey Leanne!

I sure hope to do the Segway Tour sometime. It sounds like a lot of fun and interesting! Marie!! we hope to meet Marie too. WCC looks yummy!

The cake is specular!!

I am so hoping it works for us next Fall!! I would LOVE  to see you all again, along with meeting new DIS friends! :goodvibes Wendy and I decided it is going to be a surprise for our girls. :thumbsup2 Lilian informed me last week that Ms. Wendy and Emily needed to come on THIS trip with us.

Hey Leanne! I need to do some serious catching up. I finally have things calmed down, so her I am. I have plenty of reading to do this weekend. Lucky for me, Bryan will be busy all weekend.

WOW, girl you have been VERY busy. I don't know how in the world you have time to even think about the Dis, much less keep up with it.

I love the pictures of you and Joe on the Segways :thumbsup2. I enjoyed our Dis meet; brief as it was. Dale and Dallas had flown the coop on my by that point......:lmao:.

The Sesame Street cake is AMAZING. The details are just awesome :thumbsup2. I can tell a lot of hard work went into that cake.

Just read your whole trip report in one sitting!:yay: That's not a problem is it!?!:confused3 Sorry about your bad experience at Chefs. We went last year for dinner and it was one of the best meals of our trip!:rolleyes1 Looking forward to the last installment!popcorn::

Kelly

Leanne, that cake is gorgeous!! What a talent you have.

The segway tour looks like it was fun. Shawn did it on our Oct 2008 trip with my step-dad (I thought I would end up flat on my face in the middle of the WS, so I opted out), and they thought it was great!

That's too bad about Chefs. We ate there for dinner in February and it was just "ok" but I had lunch there in May with my Mom and it was fabulous!! Guess you just never know, right? :confused3

It looks like dinner at WCC was a lot of fun! Love those AKL pics!

Sara

Thanks Lisa. Where is Cleveland, Georgia? I enjoy cake decorating. I am showing my mom how to do a wedding cake on Thursday night. A friend of hers asked if I could help her out and Mom wants to learn how to construct one. It's a three tier white with small dots in a quilting pattern and a great big obnoxious bow on the top. The dots and bow are orange. Should be interesting. ;)

Cleveland, Georgia is about 90 miles from Atlanta. It's about 3 hours from Knoxville and 3 1/2 hours from Pigeon Forge.

Please post a pic of the picture once your Mom gets through. I'd love to see how it turns out.

Im about halfway through your trip report and I love it. Your girls are BEUTIFUL!!! I love the BB pics. We are going this month and doing BBB for the first time. Im so glad we reserved the castle package now after looking at your pics.

Since Im at work I do have to go do work, but hopefully I can come back this afternoon and finish reading!!

The Segway tour sounds great! My family would love to do that someday!

Sorry your lunch with Remy wasn't better. I would agree that based on our experience Remy is the best thing about the place.

The pictures from the AKL are great :thumbsup2

As for the cake....it is adorable!!!
Thanks so much! I'm glad I'm not the only one that found Les Chefs less than stellar. The segway tour was fun and we will probably do it again when the girls are a bit bigger. :goodvibes

Great update! I've always wondered about Chefs and I think we will be skipping it this trip! We are definitely going to WCC though!:thumbsup2

Emily likes seeing the pictures of her new friends Lindsey & Josie! They are so cute!:lovestruc

I would love to do the Segway tour at WL or Epcot someday. I think I'll have to wait until the girls are both old enough for the kids club.:cutie:

The Sesame Street cake is AMAZING!! I think it is one of my favorites that you have posted! Great job, you are so talented!

Stephanie and I are booked for next fall, now we just need to work on Nickie! She said if she goes back to work, she'll be there so I'm keeping my fingers crossed!

Anyway, you guys had a fantastic trip, thank for sharing with us!:flower3:
We did have a great trip in May. I'm really looking forward to the trip we have coming up in about one month.

We definitely need to keep working on Nickie. We started this together and we need to finish together. :goodvibes

I think we are going to add a day onto our October trip here in a few weeks since it's fall break and Joe and I can both get the day off. We will be there Oct.5-10 now. I'll let you guys know about crowds and such when I get back. :thumbsup2

Fun update. the segway tour looked really cun! Sorry the food at Le Chefs was nasty. Yay for fun Dis Meets!! Love the last AKV pics!!
Thanks Mary!!

sorry for the poor experience at Les Chefs :( I ate there with my brother for dinner in March and it's now one of our favorite meals. I thought the soup was one the best I've had. I had the short ribs and the pastry puff things for dessert which was all great!!

I'm taking my friends there in Oct for lunch and we're going there in Dec for CLP so I hope that the experience is still great!!

The Segway tour is always fun! I loved doing mine a few years ago!!
The soup was good but that burger was just nasty. It was a huge pile of mush. I hope your next experience is better than ours. I'm sure it will be:goodvibes

I agree on the Segway tour! It was a lot of fun!

First off, that cake is AWESOME! Want to come to Knoxville and teach me how to work with fondant? :rotfl:

Okay, back to Disney-talk.

Glad you guys enjoyed the Segway tour! I think it looks like a lot of fun. I'll add it to the list of things to do when we take our adults-only trip. :thumbsup2

Sorry to hear that Les Chefs didn't impress. I agree that bad service and bad food would definitely not warrant a return visit.

The DISmeet sounds like such fun!

Glad that you guys had a great experience at WCC!

Great AKL pics! So sad that this was your last night. :sad2:
Thanks Julia! :goodvibes You should definitely put the segway tour on your list of things to try!

The DIS Meet was great and we had a great time at WCC. The last night is always a bummer but we are lucky this year and get to go a few more times so it has really helped significantly with our depression. :goodvibes

Great update!

And how cute is that stinkin' cake?!?!? Wow! Great job!

Thanks for the review of Chefs. We had it booked in May and decided that day to cancel it and just order pizza. We have it booked again in September, but right now, it looks like we will probably cancel it, too.

I want to try the french onion soup, but that's about it. I'd say that maybe we would go for a quick lunch, but if it took you 30 minutes just to get your drinks, I think we'll pass.
Thank you!! The soup was good but not work a dining credit in my opinion. It's tough on little one's to stay still through a two hour meal so I would definitely cancel if your children are squirmy like mine.

Yay, an update! First off, that is so awesome you are playing/coaching volleyball. I really should try to find a league like that around here. I miss playing so much.

Now onto the update...yay for a DIS meet! Sounds like there was a pretty good turnout. And that picture of the girls with Marie is so cute.

Glad you had such a good experience at WCC! It is a fun restaurant and the food is great. :thumbsup2
I'm loving playing again and you should check it out. Right now we are playing outdoor on sand courts but in six weeks we move to indoor. I like the sand, doesn't hurt as bad when I have to dive.. I'm old ya know! :rolleyes1

We loved WCC and will definitely try to get back on one of our upcoming trips. :goodvibes

its been a little bit for me
Thanks!

Great update! Sorry Chef's wasn't great-- one of the few bad reviews I've heard!
That skillet looks sooo yummy-- bet you're glad you didn't skip out on WCC!
The Sesame Street cake is absolutely adorable! The characters look perfect.
Thanks Kylie! We are so glad that we didn't skip out on WCC. It was definitely a highlight for that day. :goodvibes

Sorry to hear you guys had such a bad experience at Chefs, but luckily you were at least able to see Remy.

That cake is amazing..you are so talented!
Thanks on the cake. Remy was super cute and his birthday song to Joe was probably one of the cutest things I've seen at Disney. It wasn't a complete loss. ;)

Hi Queen! I've missed you too!

The segway tour was a lot of fun and that Remy is too cute. I will definitely hunt down another one of those slushies...soooooooo good!!

Hey Leanne!

I sure hope to do the Segway Tour sometime. It sounds like a lot of fun and interesting! Marie!! we hope to meet Marie too. WCC looks yummy!

You are so close to your trip Stephanie! I can't wait to hear all about it!! I really hope it works out for next fall too. Me, you, Wendy, Mary, and Nickie will have such a good time and our kids will have a ball for sure!

Hey Leanne! I need to do some serious catching up. I finally have things calmed down, so her I am. I have plenty of reading to do this weekend. Lucky for me, Bryan will be busy all weekend.
I totally hear ya girl! I'm so far behind I don't know if I'll ever get caught up. I'm going to try this coming weekend. It's dove season and a holiday weekend so I should have some quiet time to do some reading while Joe is out and the girls are playing. :goodvibes I'm going try my best to get caught up with everyone.

WOW, girl you have been VERY busy. I don't know how in the world you have time to even think about the Dis, much less keep up with it.

Thanks Dana! We were talking last night and the only night with any free time is Thursday night this week. It's been crazy. The time until our next trip is going by quickly though. :goodvibes

The DIS meet was fun! I hope we get to do it again!!

Kelly
Wow very impressive!!! Welcome to my report! :welcome: We may have caught Les Chefs on a bad day. I don't think I'll be able to talk DH into trying again though.

I hope to get the next installment up in a few....

Sara
Hi Sara! Thanks on the cake. I was worried about falling on the segway too but I figured it out. They tell you up front that if you become uncomfortable to let them know and they will work it out. I guess that relaxed me a little.

Apparently we did catch Les Chefs on a bad day. Joe is pretty stubborn though so I know a return trip is not in my future...with him anyway. :rolleyes1

WCC was super fun! I can't wait to try it again. :goodvibes

Cleveland, Georgia is about 90 miles from Atlanta. It's about 3 hours from Knoxville and 3 1/2 hours from Pigeon Forge.

Please post a pic of the picture once your Mom gets through. I'd love to see how it turns out.
That would make it a 6 hour drive from me.....hmmmmm. Mom ended up having me talk her through it over the phone. I guess when she found out her friend wasn't going to pay her for the supplies or any part of the cake she decided that it didn't make sense for me to drive an hour and half to help her. She said it turned out great though. :goodvibes

I have a HUGE wedding cake to do in two weeks though. 4 tiers, alternating white and red velvet cake. Buttercream fondant over buttercream and cream cheese icing respectively. Lots of details....I've tried every way in the world to get out of it (the reception is in a cave with 90% humidity and the bride is high maintenance:scared1: ) but the bride's sister is my friend and is dead set that I do it. I will post it when I finish. :goodvibes

Hiya and welcome to my TR! :welcome: Thanks for the kind words about my girls! :goodvibes BBB is priceless in my opinion. My girls love it! Hope you make it back to finish reading. The more the merrier! :goodvibes
