"Now That's What I'm Talkin' 'Bout!"- Our 1st DVC stay-May 2010-Wrap Up 9/23

Great update. :thumbsup2

I love that Josie loved her fist roller coaster ride at Disney! That's so cute how she said what she did.

Parade spot stealers really aggrevate me. :headache: Glad you let them know what was going on.

I think it's so great that the McFarlands got to be grand marshalls in the parade. I'll have to remember to tell my DH.

Hope you remembered to tell DH about the McFarland's. I know they really enjoyed dinner at Teppan Edo with you all. :goodvibes

Josie is hooked on the "big kid" rides now. She's already hounding us about BTMRR for the upcoming trip. :lmao:

Congrats on getting in at Kidani! :cool1:

I'm so glad Josie was able to ride the big rides this year! Her anticipation of the big hill on Splash reminds me of Allison--she used to want a warning before the big hill & half the time I would tell her wrong! Poor thing--I'm glad she still wants to ride it!

Big Thunder, a nap, and a shady spot for a parade--sounds like a great time! :goodvibes

Thanks B! Isn't it funny how they get so tore up over the big hill. :rotfl2: I will probably never forget how excited she was for it.

Come to think of it, Josie really does have it made when it comes to touring the parks.

Great update!

I'm wondering what the heck the guy was doing on BL in order to lose his stinking glasses? It's not like you are moving quickly or getting bumped around. Geez!

How awful for that poor mom! I would absolutely freak if something like that happened. I'm glad to hear, though, that the little one was trying to sit up. That is reassuring.

So funny to hear that Josie loved BTMRR! I do not like roller coasters at all, but that is one of my favorite rides in the world! I love it!

I don't have any idea what that joker was doing with his glasses to make him lose them on BL. I don't know that I have a pair dear enough to my heart that I would want to jump out of a moving ride to get them either.

The toddler's mom looked more like she was in shock more than freaking out. I would have been flipping for sure. I really hope the little girl was just having issues due to the heat or something fairly simple like that. It was scary for sure though. I looked around and there were a lot of other Mom's looking on and empathisizing with the Mom. You don't expect to see something like that at Disney.

Josie is a character. So much spunk in such a small package...wait to hear about TOT. :lmao:

Pictures on BTMRR are too cute....cute beyond words!! I think those first rides and their comments stay with us forever!!

I do not and never will understand how people think it's ok to just come up and stand right in front of you at a parade:headache:it makes me crazy!! It's happened to us a few times, but the worst was when we were at France in Epcot waiting to see Belle and Beast and this mother walked right in front of us and let her kids stand there. I politely told them the line up was behind us and the mother said "we're here now and we're not moving". I was completely stunned. Jasmine looked up at me and said "mom that's not fair" ... at this point I lost my mind....I just looked the mother straight in the eye and said "well you can't blame the children when the mother is clearly an idiot"...yup...me....still can't believe all that came spilling out, but it was the look on Jasmine's face....it made me crazy....obviously.:lmao:
Josie's reaction will definitely be staying with us forever. It was so cute and exactly the reason why we keep going back to Disney. :goodvibes

Queen your post about the line cutters made me laugh out loud. That lady must have really gotten under your skin. I would have done the exact same thing-maybe even a little harsher. You can mess with me all you want, but may God be with you if you mess with my children. ;)

WOW!!! The smaller they are, the more daredevil they become!!! It's funny sometimes. But that's good she's like that, and she's tall enough to ride all the rides. Haden is like that for us this year, so no chickening out on TOT for me!!! HAHA Anyways, great update, glad the lady moved....I elbowed a guy at the parade before, kept using my head for his arm to hold his camera steady!!! AH well....takes all kinds of people!!! Glad it wasn't confrontational tho.

You only have 5 more days Christie!!! Congrats Girl!!!!:banana::banana:

Josie is has no fear whatsoever. I really need to find the pic of Lindsey's first roller coaster ride. It scared the tar out of her. Be strong on TOT girl! :goodvibes I would have been so peeved if a guy was using my head as an arm rest. I don't like people touching me in general let alone my head or face. :headache:

Yay, Josie for riding roller coasters! Her comment at the end is too funny! She's such a cutie.:cutie:
How cool that your friends got to be in the parade! I always thought that would be so cool to do! One day I'll go over to Guest Services and ask. How rude of the people to try to cut in front of your girls.
Somebody got out of their car on Buzz!?!?!?:scared1::scared1: That's like jumping out of a moving plane with out a parachute! Idiot!
I think I speak for everyone when I say we want to hear about your July ADRS! Are you doing a DP?popcorn::popcorn::
The girls and I are going away tomorrow to NJ to visit family for a few weeks so I probably won't have any DIS time or very limited time. I'll try to start my new PTR when I'm up there, though. I'll let you know when I do.:goodvibes

I will post the July plans in just a few. That's easy enough. :goodvibes Hope you have a great visit to NJ and please be sure to let me know when you start your PTR! I'd love to follow along. :yay:

Oh wow!! How cool that your friends were the grand marshalls for the parade!! And Josie is cracking me up on that roller coaster!! :lmao:

It was really neat to see them in the parade. :goodvibes Josie is a very funny little kid. She keeps us cracking up. Thanks Becky! :goodvibes

Hey Leanne! Hope you guys are enjoying summer!! Great pictures!! I love Josie's reaction to Big Thunder!!! I wonder what happend to that little kid- sounds so scary.... I hope everything turned out ok.

Sounds like you had a magical day at the MK!!

Thanks Nickie! We had a fantastic day at the MK! Lots of fun and firsts all around. It was kind of weird afternoon because of the drama but it was fairly uneventful from that point on. :goodvibes

Great group picture at the GG event. The safari part sounds great. We elected not to do the GG experiences this time...we will have to wait and see if we end up going as a GG again.

Great gifts from Connie and Leona! Such a sweet surprise. :goodvibes

AWw, the girls look great after their BBB--so cute!!

Everyone just raves about Princess Tiana and Naveen--I want to wait in line too!

:yay: for the waitlist coming through!

Great pictures from the parade!!

I think it is sad how nasty people get at Disney. I know you have paid a lot of money to be there, but so has everyone else. If Lilian wants to meet Tiana (which I am sure she will), we will watch the lines too. That's all you can do. :confused2: Seems like the parades and character greetings (maybe only specifically Tiana and Naveen's) bring out the worst in adults at Disney. :sad1:

So we only have about 2.5 weeks until we head back to WDW for Lindsey's birthday celebration. We are taking her out to dinner tonight (since Joe has to work tomorrow night). We are meeting friends and family at our favorite Mexican place. She is pretty excited about it. My little girl will be 10 tomorrow. :sad2:

Here's the plan for the trip:

Head out at lunch 7/9 and drive at least halfway (maybe longer depending how we feel)

7/10 arrive at SSR early in the morning and check in.
Head over to EPCOT
Dinner at 5:30 at Garden Grill

7/11 AK
Dinner at 6:15 at Tusker House

7/12 MK
Dinner at 5:15 at Tony's Town Square
Family Photo Session at the Poly at 7pm

7/13 DHS
Meet up with my best friend from my childhood (she's coming from MI)
Dinner at Cape May at 7:10pm
Fantasmic

7/14 Quick trip to DTD
Head home! :sad2:

What do you think guys?

Thanks Stephanie! I agree it's kind of sad how deranged people get over the silliest things. I only get upset when adults act silly - you know they know better. I hope you don't have any issues. Touring plans is show like no crowds whatsoever for your dates, so I'm sure you are going to be fine. :goodvibes

Not only do I want to hear about your daring daughter on the TOT now I'm curious what a 'family photo session' is at the Poly. Way to keep us guessing! :goodvibes

Plan looks good!! You're only missing us again by a couple of days!! LOL Ah well. My friend is driving today, and I'm a nervous wreck. But, Went to the dr this morning, got my sleeping pills, and my narcotics, and I'm ready to GO!!! HAHA I do need to have a couple of moles removed when I get back....YUK, and I found out that my scale here at home is all haywire, and wasn't giving us good readings, so I asked my dr the last time I got my sleeping pills refilled how much I weighed, and she said 185, so my starting weight on my ticker is WAY off...and today I'm at 157. So, according to my dr, I'm at 28 lbs!!!! :) DxDDP next week is gonna wipe it ALL away!!! HAHA

Your plans sound great! Mmm, dinner at Tony's. Love it there! How cool your friend is going to be there too.

I'll be anxious to hear what you have to say about Saratoga Springs. I can't wait to go back there. :goodvibes

And happy 10th birthday to Lindsey!

You are so right my friend....that's exactly why we keep going back!!!

God help them is right:banana: They better be praying:cool1:

Oops sorry, premature post again..didn't read your whole post:rolleyes1

Your plans sound great....I can't believe in two and a half weeks your back....I am living vicariously through you:banana:

You'll have a terrific trip-- great plans! Have fun at dinner, as well! Love Mexican!

Your plans for July look great! How fun that you are going back so soon!

I've seen a couple of shots from people's photoshoots at the Poly right around that same time and they turned out great - wonderful lighting at that time of day! :goodvibes

I will be sure to tell you all about Jose's TOT experience. :goodvibes The family photo session is actually something I won during Welcome Home Wednesday. I won the photo session and a PhotoCD. I chose the Poly for our location. Apparently we will go to the Poly and a photopass photographer will be taking pics of us on the grounds of the Poly. :goodvibes I've never done it but some of my DIS buds have and their pics are gorgeous. :thumbsup2 I'm REALLY excited about it. Hope to get a good pic for Christmas cards. ;)
