Now that the Values have fridges and wi-fi, are you more likely to stay there?

I'm guessing that Disney is trying to lure the off-site, budget guest to stay onsite with these new additions. But it could work against them by moderate guests to downgrade as well. What are your thoughts?

We have done both values and mods and to be honest that not enough for me to go back to staying on site. I value the extra room I get when we stay off-site and will continue to stay off-site even with the new freebies.

No, because the still price isn't cheaper than staying in a mod for us because we have 5 people so we'd have to stay in a suite - and quite frankly for the extra walk I'd rather stay offsite or upgrade to a deluxe.

size is a top factor for us as well, we usually stay at the Dolphin because we can fit an air mattress in there much nicer than in a value, and location is sweet. I can work around a lack of fridge or wi-fi. I prefer location and space (and a digital safe). That being said, however..we now have no one under 17 so getting hit with the extra adult fee pretty is is either going to send us off site, or only at the values getting 2 rooms or a suite. Ah, who am I kidding? This board is as close to WDW as we are going to get for a loooooooooooooong time.

We stay mod because we also have 5 now. I am not going to pay for 2 rooms, or stay in the fam. suites, because we ONLY go during FD, and want the regular dining (to pay to upgrade is close to the same, so rather be at POR). If, and when they ever get rid of FD...its off-site we go.....

No change for me we always stay at pop ! We get 2rooms we are a family of 5. my kids well are not kids anymore (21 .20 and 17) they love pop . We have stayed at all levels , We were DVC members for a lot of years sold it when the Canadian currency tanked . that being said my kids still prefer pop over any other resort . My youngest is a vegan and the service we get at the food court is the best on property they even make him vegan ice cream !!! WE are going again in 7 days and cant wait to see our Pop !!!

It really has no influence on me, when I pick a resort, it's determined by our budget and length of stay. But, I will never stay offsite more than one night and if I can help it, I won't stay offsite at all, it's too much of a hassle and my time is more valuable than that.

No influence on us. DH is a diabetic so we always got a free fridge for his meds in any case (though I'd gladly pay for a fridge if it ment he was healthy!) and while wi-fi is great to have, it's not that important for us. In any case, we just got the Starwood Amex card last year and will now use points to stay at the Swan/Dolphin for free on our future trips.

We probably won't stay value ever again at Disney.

I am spoiled because we are DVC and usually get a 1 bedroom unit. I like the bigger beds, nicer towels, granite counter tops, thicker walls! etc. It really does make a difference.

We have also needed to pay for a night or two here or there or even a whole trip when we were low on points. Love, love, love Buena Vista Suites for a few nights before we start our DVC stay. Super convenient and a decent free breakfast buffet. At $100/night it is always way cheaper than a value since we need 2 rooms or a suite. For longer trips, Bonnet Creek is gorgeous and very reasonable in price.

We are AP holders so parking is free for us at the parks. We always rent a car whether onsite or off. And we feel that the dining plan is horribly expensive and not worth it at all (and we eat most of our meals in the parks). The values just have no appeal for us anymore...so fridges and wifi won't change that.

That's pretty much us as well. We like the extra bed size and we just like the themes of the deluxe and moderates more.

Moderates and Deluxes had wi-fi in December. POP just came online last night.

My "original" line of thought was . . . 'why pay the extra money for a room that you'll probably only sleep and shower in?'. So, our first couple of trips were stays in value resorts and we were pretty happy.

THEN, we stayed at POR. With that stay we decided, and not because of wi-fi and fridge, but more because of amenities and things to do at the resort, we would never go back to value. The expense isn't that significant to us for the "value" you get at a moderate resort for what you pay.

No more value resorts for us, but we will ALWAYS stay on site - there really is no reason not to. Bring on the themed pools, fishing, boating, biking & wagon rides etc.!! We're hooked!

We have found that we love something about each level of resort, just depends on our trip. We stayed at BWI/BWV in January, but we were there for 9 days, in June we will only be there for 3 nights, so Pop is perfect for us, because of the longer park hours.

If we had children that might change, not sure.

You can use all of those amenities no matter where you stay, well, except the pools. Pools don't matter to us, because we hardly ever get the chance to use them, not sure if we will use the WiFi or not, we didn't in Jan at BWI.

I doubt anyone (or at least not many) who has the budget for a Moderate would drop down to a value now that they have a fridge. Does make them look a "little" more appealing for the off-site folks, but there's still the issue of space & lack of amenities if you plan to eat in your room at all on your trip.

No change for me, I still have no desire to stay at a value. We are DVC members and have on occasion stayed at a value for a weekend night because of lack of availability or to save on points but it's not something that we do frequently

a few miles offsite, renting a 4br house with pool for $79 a night. Disney will never be able to compete with that value. Add in my costs for rental car/parking (no free dining when we are going) and the cost of my rental house might (big MIGHT) add up to the same as a one room value and being a slave to the bus system.

I value my space. I just don't see the fun in my wife and I having to share a single room for a week with the kids. No privacy. No space. No thank you. lol

Still, its about time that got fridges in their room.
