Now is the Best Time! Our 2024 Florida Road Trip (complete)-RL update!

I have lived in Lancaster for 15 years and have NEVER been to Station House Tavern!
I just saved you a future trip! :rotfl2:
For a pub experience Lancaster Brewing is the best!
Appalachian Brewing is in Lititz, and also great!
We will have to check those out next time we're in the area! Our DS-26 is saying he wants to visit Lancaster again sometime, maybe next summer.

That's a wrap! Right now it looks like the next scheduled trips are Dec. 3-11 and 3/9-4/15. DH is still undecided about the spring trip though so it may be 3/31-5/7 instead, either way I can't wait! Thank you everyone for following along!

Thanks for sharing your entertaining and very informative TR! Looking forward to your next adventure!

Really enjoyed your trip report! You gave me lots of fun ideas for a retirement trip in a few years. :)

So far Georgia hasn't been great for us. Last year in Savannah wasn't much better. Next time we think we'll drive straight through to South Carolina.
You are one of my favorite trip report writers. I love your style of travel, it's always like reading an expanded version of our trave because you guys get to go longer! But I like trying to find interesting things to do on the way as well!

I cant recall if you hit Leopald's for ice cream in Savannah but that was my favorite part of my trip there. Just in case you end up back there. There is also a Disney resort near Hilton Head, in case you didnt know.

As for Ormond Beach, I stayed in that hotel that was the birthplace of Nascar (name escapes me). The room was one of the most awkward rooms I have ever stayed in and the bathroom made a cruise ship bathroom feel like a mansion. BUT the lobby and downstairs area was chock full of Nascar stuff and free to roam even if you werent staying there. So you might want to pop in the next time you are there.

Thank you so much!

We didn't hit Leopald's. We wanted to but the line was crazy long and we didn't have the patiences to wait. I would love to go to Hilton Head some day!

We drove by that hotel (Streamline?) but didn't stop. That's great to know that you can go into the lobby and look around. That room doesn't sound great but we'll definitely stop in next time.

Thanks again for reading along!

The line was long for us at Leopald's too but it moved somewhat quickly. I got Rum something...pecan, maybe? I know not Raisin because ew and that's usually what you see paired with Rum. It was December and a seasonal flavor. But it was so, so good.

Yes! The Streamline. Thank you! Definitely worth a stop in for Nascar fans if you are in the area (probably not worth it as a destination), we arent but still found it interesting.

Real Life Update - December Plans Finalized!
Our December trip is official and this morning was our 60 day window for ADRs. Things are going to be a little different on this trip, as we both just had physicals and it appears the Disney eating has had an impact on our cholesterol levels. Instead of letting this stress us out, we've decided to make it a challenge for our December trip to find as many healthier meals as possible, avoiding fried foods, red meat, and cheesy dishes. We figure if the majority of our meals are healthier, we can still splurge here and there for desserts. We are actually looking forward to the challenge and it's forcing us to eat at some "new to us" restaurants too.

Here's the plan for table service so far:

Dec. 4 Teppan Edo at noon (haven't been since 2010)
Dec. 5 Skipper Canteen at 5:50 (new to us)
Dec. 6 'Ohana at 5:20 (okay so this one isn't the healthiest of choices and we'll probably cancel it but I didn't want to get on the trip and regret not scheduling it)
Dec. 7 Yak & Yeti at 5:00
Dec. 8 Trattoria Al Forno for breakfast at 8:00 (new to us). Was going to try Amare but it looks like they had no breakfast reservations
Dec. 8 Ale & Compass dinner at 5:30 (new to us for dinnner)
Dec. 9 La Hacienda at 5:45 (new to us for dinner)

I plan on doing a trip report and I'll let you know how we do with seeking out healthier choices.

Check Open Table!
Great suggestion! I did check and there's much more availability on open table but oddly it's all for lunch or dinner. They do show a breakfast menu with both a buffet and a la carte items but no reservations. I wonder if it's a quick service type deal for breakfast. I've never seen a vlogger go there for breakfast so I don't really know much about it.
Where is Amare?
It's at the Swan Reserve. I've been pouring over menus looking for healthier options and noticed they had some interesting healthy breakfast items so we were going to give it a try. Maybe in April when we have more time we'll check it out since I can't seem to find an ADR this time.
