We will be gong for the first time to WDW. We will be staying at the GF. For "estimated transportation times" in the PassPorter's book it says from GF to MK monorail 3 min., GF to Epcot monorail x 2 12 + 10 minutes, GF to Disney-MGM direct bus 15 minutes. I thought great! Then I saw the Unofficial Guide and it said: GF to MK 6 to 7 min., GF to Epcot 39 to 51 min., GF to Disney-MGM 30 to 40 min. :confused3 Which one is correct? It makes a lot of difference in our planning! We will be having one person with a 3 wheeled electric scooter (rented from a local group not Disney).

Now I love my Passporter just fine, but for reliable information (esp on Transportation matters) I swear by the Unofficial Guide. Len Testa, who sometimes haunts this board, has explained their calculations in detail, and frankly, the Unofficial Guide's methodology makes sense and will give you a good idea of what to actually expect (maybe he'll see this and illustrate here). I suspect that the main difference is that the Passporter times measure only the amount of time on the bus/ monorail/ boat/ walk, not the waiting times and loading times. Really, you can't even load and unload from the Monorail in 3 minutes, much less get to MK; the Passporter's estimates must be just time spent on the vehicle.

As for your scooter and its impact on your commute times, the loading and unloading will add to your transit times, maybe up to 5 mins each trip (we have a wheelchair-bound DS, and the loading procedures for wheelchairs and scooters are the same).

Good luck!

I agree with the above post. The Unofficial Guide times are the most accurate. However, I would not let the travel times infulence my daily plans too much. When making my own personal plans for a day I always allow a bit more time for each move, show, attraction, and meal, than my past experiences in the parks would indicate. Then I use the extra time that usually builds up to add attractions to my day, or simply use the extra time to enjoy the view.

Plan ahead? Yes! Plan a minute-by-minute daily plan? Perhaps, but with plenty of slack.

Enjoy.
