Now I'm Really A Princess!! Princess 1/2 Report Update 6/24 Going Home

Wow! I can't believe your luck with the lines. Especially Everest. I'm jealous!
It seems that Colby did better with the characters that day. James was just over 27 months this trip and did well with them- but not until he saw his favorite one. After that he was excited for them all.

Yes! We were VERY lucky with the lines! On both trips we have taken 'off' season, once in November, 2008 and this one in February, the lines were sooooo much shorter than our usual summer trips! I told DH that a few days off season was better than our longer summer trips! Not that I want to give up the longer trips...but maybe we could add in shorter trips more often...:lmao:

Riding Expedition Everest with no line sounds like so much fun. And then to have short lines at Magic Kingdom later that night is amazing.

We always get fudge at the end of all of our trips. I think it helps ease the sadness of the last night.:thumbsup2

Do you take it with you? I like having Disney treats to eat after we get home! It does help ease the pain of having to leave...:sad1:

It sort of depends on how the night is going, but it's fairly common for us to eat some right there on Main Street and take some home. :rolleyes1

I think your idea sounds great- shorter trips but more frequent trips. You can probably get as much done it 4 slow days as 6 busy days

I like to bring home minnies bake shop cookies.

I don't think we have tried minnie's cookies yet! Something else to add to the 'want to try' list for August!

It has been a few days, but we were just finishing our last night at Disney. :sad2:

We had a good night sleep and woke up at about 7:15. We took turns showering and packing up. We got all packed up and headed down to check our luggage in. Since we were on our way home and we were flying Southwest, we checked all our bags this time, instead of keeping one as a carry-on. So we just had our computer bag, diaper bag, and book bag to keep track of.

We headed back upstairs to the Contempo Cafe to grab some breakfast. We had 2 counter service meals left, so we got 2 bounty platters. This was more than enough food for all four of us to split.

After we ate, we wondered around the shops for a while. The we grabbed on more of these:

Yummy!

Then it was time for some last minute photos.

Colby wasn't too keen on having his picture taken any more...

All too soon it was time to go wait out front for the Magical Express to come and take us away. First we had to say good-bye to Katie, though. We will not be seeing her until the summer...actually, she got home last week! :lmao:

When the bus came, we boarded and made it to the airport without incident. We made it through security easily. It had actually been a while since we had eaten, so we grabbed some lunch at McDonalds. Then we wondered down to find our gate. We took turns chasing Colby up and down the terminal, letting him get all his energy out.

We called home and found out that the weather was fine, so there should be no problems getting home! And there weren't. Colby had a much better flight than he had on the way down. He was easily entertained watching Chip and Dale cartoons on the computer and snacking. The flight was fine and so was the drive back home.

We spent the evening unwinding and starting the laundry. It was right back to work the next day, but I was actually excited to show off my medal and pictures! I had uploaded a bunch of the pictures to Walmart before we left in the morning and they were ready to pick up that night, so I could show them off the next day! That made it not so bad. Plus, we were already starting to plan our August trip!

Well, thanks for following along! I hope you have enjoyed our trip! Maybe now I will start a little pre-trip report for our August trip!

The last day is always so sad. I'm glad you have the August trip coming right up. Nothing soothes Post Disney Depression like a new trip on the horizon. I'm glad Colby did better on the flight home. Flying with little kids is always an adventure.

It certainly has helped! This upcoming trip should be interesting as Colby will be in his carseat on the plane...I have not decided yet if that will be better or worse...:confused3

Thanks everyone for reading along! If you would like to follow our continuing adventures, I have started a PTR for our trip next month. I would love it if you stopped by! Thanks! :wave2:
