If I am reading and hearing everything correctly I am able to book my park days for our November trip on 6/22. We have a room reservation and our park tickets are linked. Please correct me if I am wrong.

I put my trip planning on hold and as really expecting it to be that the reservation system would be 60 days (or some time frame closer) to our trip. Now I have to scramble and come up with some sort of plan. I really can't see how the MDE system is going to handle everyone jumping on at 7am to book park reservations. It sounds like they are doing park reservations for up to Sept 2021 (when extended tickets now expire). Man that means i have to figure out our April 2021 trip too?

I feel like if i don't book everything that I can as soon as I am able I will be kicking myself if i get shut out of the parks.

Same here. I'm able to book Nov & Feb- just seems crazy to allow people to book this far out while there are so many unknowns.

I have an AP, I read earlier that there will be a limitation on how many days I can book? Does anyone know the parameters?

I did hear that if you have a resort reservation and an AP you can book days equal to the length of your stay, but if only an AP holder and no reservation that you would be limited on the number of days you can book. Is this fact? I’m not 100 % sure.

You are correct

From what has been shared with me, the system is only going to be for 2020 dates next week.

Obviously, without official confirmation from Disney, I know people will and should try...but, don’t be surprised if it isn’t active yet if your trip is not until 2021.

That is one reason they are not selling packages for 2021 until the 28th...most likely, that is when things open up...but that is speculation on my part.

Sandi - Where is your info coming from that only dates through 2020 may be reserved on 6/22? This is what the website says:

Plan Ahead for Your Next Park Visit

Magic Kingdom park and Disney’s Animal Kingdom theme park will begin a phased reopening on July 11—with Epcot and Disney’s Hollywood Studios reopening on July 15.

To manage attendance during this reopening period, while also helping Guests plan ahead before their arrival, we are introducing the new Disney Park Pass system. During this time, all Guests with valid admission will be required to make a reservation in advance for each park entry, using this new online tool.

To enter a park, both a park reservation AND valid admission for the same park on the same date are required for each person in your party ages 3 and up (limit one park per day).

Booking Dates for Park Reservations

The Disney Park Pass system will be available soon to select Guests. Booking dates vary based on your plans.

  • Beginning June 22, 2020, Disney Resort and other select hotel Guests with valid theme park admission can make reservations.
  • Beginning June 26, 2020, Annual Passholders without a Resort stay can make reservations.
  • Beginning June 28, 2020, existing ticket holders can make reservations.

Park reservations will be available through September 26, 2021, based on your Resort stay and ticket eligibility or ticket eligibility window.

This says that anyone with a ticket & a resort reservation up to and including 9/26/21 can make park reservations on 6/22.

It was given to some TAs via a Disney during their training yesterday.

Yes, the system will be in place until Sept of 2021, but the first few days were supposed to only be for 2020 so the system was not overloaded.

Unfortunately, there are now conflicting reports as some CMs are saying it is wide open For booking.

My friends have not been told anything different than they were yesterday...even when they checked today.. so it’s still unclear.

There is a post in another thread from someone who confirmed what I was told as well.

Honestly, at this point until Monday, we won’t know for sure.

I talked to APH help desk after sitting on hold for 2 hours last night as to trying to sort which passes I wanted refunds for closures etc.

I brought up several questions & was told “unofficially”:

*Monday is designated for those with resort reservations and the time period available to book will go to the end of 2020.

*for september/oct trip (wherein my adult DS doesn’t have tix), CM said she was not sure if the ability to make reservations will be based upon:

A) merely having a resort reservation/being able to make park reservations for all on the reservations regardless of their tix situation.

Or

B) only valid tix holders on said eligible reservations

:confused3

If option B) was told “they should” permit those guests without tix who are currently listed on later resort reservations purchase tix. Then can call & request that they be added to my group’s reservations.

To quote my DH: “...that’s a lot of should’a, could’as. :upsidedow

I’m starting to think they may be making it up as they go.

I'm wondering about this wording "Park reservations will be available through September 26, 2021, based on your Resort stay and ticket eligibility or ticket eligibility window. " It mentions an eligibility window. So they might do the rolling APR's but who knows.

I was reading that again today and I agree that maybe that is indicating that it may not open all on Monday.

But, again, it was not clear and many TAs were told Monday is for 2020 only... i don’t know but I will be on refreshing starting at 7 am!

I just really wish they would only do those through 60 days out from Monday. I am willing to wait until my 60 day window in 85 days. We all know the website can't handle it. Remember a few years ago when they briefly shut down ADR's and then moved them to 90 days instead of 180. That was a cluster and only 90 days worth of guests!

And the reservation system is open 24/hrs a day, correct? I cant make reservations until tomorrow evening.

I totally expect to see the system crash shortly after 7 am.
As I understand, I will be reserving my park days for our 2020 and our 2021 days Monday.
I really hope this is wrong, as the is way too many people trying to log on at one time and the system will clearly crash.
Even only letting you book through 2020 is questionable.
Monday will be interesting.

This is all so confusing to me. I am planning an Augist 21 trip with 3 adults and 2 children. We are DVC so we don't have our rooms yet and won't until September 1. Am I supposed to buy our passes, load them on MDE and make reservations when 21 opens up? What about kids or even one of the adults who doesn't have a MDE account? What if I buy a 10 day park ticket and get 7 reservations? I'd like to think that this is precautionary planning on Disney's part for a trip as far out as Aug 21 but if it isn't adjusted and attendance is limited still I don't want to lose out because DVC books later than cash.

Well we have AP and resort stay actually three trips totaling 32 nights...and it would only let me book 3 nights...the others in my group with APs I was able to book 9 nights, two different reservations before it cut me off..said couldn’t book anymore. 😡😢😔😕
