Novice car renter has ???

Hi, we are thinking of renting a car just for the day when we arrive in Orlando for our cruise. We are flying in really early the day before and staying at the Radisson at Port Canaveral that night. Because we will have so much time available that day, we would like the freedom to make a quick trip to downtown disney to shop, have lunch, etc... and then head over to cape canaveral.
My questions are these:
1) I've never rented a car before. Is it an easy process?
2) We are thinking about using Budget. Would you recommend anyone else?
3) We also usually use Disney transportation exclusively. How hard is it to find your way around? How is the drive from WDW to Port Canaveral?
4) When we drop the car off that evening in cape canaveral will they have a shuttle that will take us over to the Radisson?

I'm sorry that no one has answered your questions. Even though you're asking about rental cars, I would post the same question on the Disney Cruise Line Board instead. There are CONSTANTLY questions about one-way rentals, including Budget, to and from the Port, etc.

You'll get an answer there.
