So, if you look at my previous posts, my husband and I were supposed to have gone to WDW in September 2010 to celebrate our 5th anniversary... but that didn't happen.

So, I'm trying once again to get to the World; and now it looks like our vacation is going to be November 13th-19th, which is the week before Thanksgiving, and right after the Food and Wine festival.

So my questions from the seasoned Disney pros... is this going to be a decent week to go? Also, is there any hope at all that Disney will be doing free dining during that time? I know there is no guarantee, but what's your hunch?

We went in 2010 basically the same time you are thinking of going and it was AWESOME! We had weather in the high 70, low 80s and sunny the whole time. It was also great because we go to attend the Food & Wine Festival, see the Christmas decorations and attend MVMCP. The crowds were low and the only ride we did FP for was Toy Story Mania. Even Soarin' was only a 20 minute ride and we walked onto the Safari, Space Mountain, Thunder Mtn. Railway, etc. We still made our ADRs well in advance due to free dining.

We went to Disney last year in September and they hadn't come out with their advertisements for free dining until the summer months. We had anticipated that they would offer the free dining, but weren't sure because it's obviously based on how they are doing economically. Luckily, you can always modify your reservations to add the free dining if they come out with it later.

You're also picking an excellent time to travel. Like you mentioned, it's between the Food & Wine Festival and Thanksgiving so the crowds won't be that large. As a DVC member, we never have issues getting rooms around that time so I don't anticipate you'll have any issues with crowds. Have a great time!

Those are the same dates as our trip (though ours start on the 10th)! I am happy to hear that these dates are good - especially on crowd levels and weather.
