November W.I.S.H. - Thankful is as thankful does.

Wednesday WooHoo - DH's new desk is put together!! He has a work desk in his basement den, but he really needed a separate place for his Lodge stuff.

We put it in the corner of the "dining room" (which actually gets used as everything but) and it has much better natural light. I think he'll use it a lot... and I'll get my craft table back!

Forgot to post a thankful for yesterday - the nice weather.

And for today - online shopping! (I ordered DH a birthday gift, and got $30 of Kohl's Cash!)

Woohoo! My new Kindle arrived! My husband ordered it as an early birthday present because he was afraid of delivery delays. He’s setting it up now.

Woohoo! I have all my Christmas gifts for my grandson. I like to have those
purchased by Thanksgiving. Also the gifts for my niece’s girls.

My thankful for yesterday-had lunch with one of my dearest friends. A four hour lunch at Panera laughing and catching up with each other.

My thankful today-another beautiful fall day. Will spend some time outside cutting back bushes while it’s sunny and warm.

ShannyMcB, I looked up stridor cough-oh, my! I remember my daughter’s croup freaking me out back in the day but this sounds so much worse. Hope she is feeling much better today and you all get some rest.

Woohoo... it is not a wet windy crap-fest outside this morning.

Woohoo... getting my hair cut this evening and I'm going to have her undercut the back. Hair touching my neck is one of my sensory things and it has been touching the past few haircuts as we've been letting it grow a bit longer, so I am really looking forward getting the neckline shaved.

Woohoo... tomorrow is a day off!

I m not very woohoo. I started yesterday with a migraine and I am still not feeling great. Advil is keeping it from getting bad though. I am also back to finding a new hair salon. I took my daughter to one last night to get her hair highlighted and trimmed and it cost $200. My fault for not asking a head of time. It does look really good though. I just can't afford that.

My woohoo is that I am off the next 2 days. I totally forgot about them. I had a ton of time that I need to schedule so I didn't lose PTO at the end of the year. I just sporadically since September. So yay for 2 days off. Now hopefully I will feel better.
 Hopefully you will feel better.

I get my hair highlighted every 10-12 weeks. It is SO EXPENSIVE. I went for years not coloring my hair because I just couldn't afford it, and with dirty blonde hair, you have to be careful who you go to so that it doesn't turn out brassy. My hair must have been lighter in my 20's because I was able to do it at home, but then again, it was damaged. Now that I can afford it, I pay the big bucks. DD pays for her own hair. Good luck finding someone that does a good job but isn't quite as expensive.

I have gone to the same person for almost 20 years. It is bout $200 for DD and I both to get our hair done. She does it independently so she just charges for the product and I am sure a little bit more But it is so much more reasonable. She is starting to retire and went down to 2 or 3 days a week and know it takes 2 months to get into her. She is also further away but I didn't mind driving the extra time because I liked how she did my hair.

Wahoo I have a four day weekend! It's really just supposed to be tomorrow off, but then they cancelled school on Friday and I decided I didn't really need to be there. About half our staff decided that, too!

Wahoo I had a good weigh in last week, but haven't been super diligent this week, so who knows what Saturday will bring?! I have been recording my food so yay me.

Thought I would share a Christmas idea I came across that fits our thoughtfulness theme-

Complimentary Chocolates

Cut decorative wraps to fit over small fun size chocolates (I’m using Hershey dark chocolates with almonds). Write a compliment on the inside of the wrapper and tape over the original. Put in mason jars and tie a ribbon around the rim of the lid and attach a label. I found small jars online.
My mason jars arrived yesterday and I will start working on the individual compliments today because I need to make seven of these for my close friends-and I was thinking of making one for my grandson as well.

What a thoughtful idea!

My thoughtful for today is to let my SIL know that she can host Christmas. I had planned to do It this year but then she said she wanted to and wouldn’t let it go. She’s not the greatest hostess so my Sister I were both ‘ugh’, so the compromise is for SIS and her Girlfriend to come to my place for lunch and games and then go over to SILs for dinner and gifts. So we get both, fancy food and decorations at my place and happy family members.

I’ve started my household chores for the day, getting lunch right now. For some reason both of the girls have the runs right now, so there’s some extra cleaning to be done. Hopefully their tummies will settle down soon. Other than that it’s a quiet rainy day.

Sounds like a good compromise. We’ve tweaked our get togethers over the years as well.

Random Thought #1 - I've determined that I don't so much *adjust* to the time change as *adapt* to the time change. I just cannot wake up an hour later even though we call it the "same" time. Yesterday I inventoried my Christmas stash at 5:30am. Today I mopped my kitchen floor. 😐

Random Thought #2 - I really should have listened to the cat when she wanted a walk at 7:30. I told her we'd go out at 8:00, and it was raining by then. 🙁
