November touring plans, I just don't understand...why would they do this...

As of right now, both Touring Plans and thedibb have MK as the most recommended park for Sunday November 6.
Why would they have MK as most recommended when MVMCP will start the next day on Monday November 7 and continue on Tuesday Nov 8, Thursday Nov 10 and Friday Nov 11? Meaning that the park will close early (7PM?) on those days.
In other words, wouldn't you think Sunday Nov 6 would be crowded since the MK will be closing early the rest of the week, except for Wednesday, for MVMCP?
I'm trying to get my itinerary together and I don't understand why both sites would recommend MK for Sunday. Right now I'm following their advice and have us going to MK on Sunday but I'm hesitant.

BTW, we will have tickets for MVMCP and will do that on Tuesday, Nov 8, I think, but still wanted another day at MK.
What do you guys think? Do you think that these 2 sites could be correct and that MK would be a good choice for Sunday Nov 6?

Thank you all in advance,

Karen

Instead of thinking of it as the best choice, consider the recommended parks as being the least bad choice. That's always how I take "recommended parks" suggestions.

Also, if everybody goes by the park recommendations, wouldn't MK be the busiest and a park that isn't recommended would be empty?o_Oo_O:D:D

Just pick a park and have fun - no need stressing over something that won't happen for almost 7 months! :-)

I do think it will be crowded, as it will be one of the only nights that week that regular day guests will get to see any nighttime entertainment. If that's not important to you, then plan your other MK day on a party day, which should see lower crowds.

However, I would not let this deter your decision. If you want to go that day, then go. If you plan on going at rope drop and have a good plan in place, there's no reason you won't have a successful day!

It isn't really about what is going on at MK that week as much as it is the best park to be in on that particular day which is relative to what is going on in the other parks that day. It's a weekend day at Epcot during the Food & Wine Festival and Hollywood Studios is anticipated to have evening extra magic hours. I also wouldn't stress over what is "most recommended" versus "recommended".

MK on Sunday is a comparatively good bet. Sunday is a travel day for most families, and those arriving usually get in later in the day just because of the logistics of planes, DME and check-in. That could be their reasoning.

Mondays are rarely good because the folks who just arrived want to get to the park.

And locals would prefer to go on Saturday (evening) and / or to the party on Monday.

In my opinion this is all first draft stuff. There are just so many variables to include that haven't been determined yet by Disney. It makes this current iteration almost impossible to use. EasyWDW info put out the park hours for November and the entire month is showing NONE for the Wishes fireworks at the MK........even on none party days............for entire month! Can't make any detailed updates with this stuff.....................

Yep, Sundays are historically a low crowd day for MK.

Also, it's food and wine marathon week which skews crowds towards Epcot.

I also think that Touring plan has not done any crowd calendar adjustment yet for either the Christmas party schedule or recently released park hours. With no first hand knowledge whatsoever, I would guess they were waiting for the hours and preliminary list of what parks have EMH prior to performing a crowd calendar adjustment. I would not be shocked to see a revision to occur in the next few weeks now that that information has been published. Just a guess

Also, the Wine and Dine half marathon is that morning (and believe me when I say that after that, no runner will be in the parks until mid-day at the earliest..I barely made 2pm after the 10K on Saturday), and the race afterparty is that night at Epcot. I can believe that the crowds would be lighter than normal.

They have done it because they are just using last year's calendar and last year the first party was on a Sunday.

They will change it. Eventually. Right now you are ahead of them.

Sounds like a good guess to me. Seems like a long time ago, hours and crowd predictions were a little more. . . Predictable!

There was a lot of uproar when I planned my Oct 2014 trip because all the hours and crowd predictions got pretty significant changes within just weeks of the dates. That seems to be occurring more frequently of late.

Thank you all. You have all given me some good information that I will keep in mind. You've also made me feel a little better about choosing MK for that Sunday. I guess I have no choice but to wait until there are new updates but for now I'll stick with MK.

Remember too that the recommendations may change. Disney tinkers with operating schedules up to the date of the trip. Recommended parks may change.
