We have decided to head down for the November Shuttle launch, but too late a decision. All the Tickets are gone for Kennedy and Causeway. DH is not phased. Any one have tips on where he might go to get a good view of the launch from Titusville? What time should he leave from Disney? Any other tips, tricks, pointers or whatever to make the spaceboy's dream of seeing a launch work? Thanks so much,

Get there early....Titusville gets REALLY crowded, and since its close to the last one, its gonna be even worse...also be prepared for a scrubbed launch...they can scrub it right up to the end, and getting out of Titusville is 10x worse when everything is over...I would plan the entire day around it myself

ETA...you CAN see it from Disney also...Sure its not super close, but trust me, you cannot miss it.

I always watch it from my grandparents' condo in Titusville, which is right across the river from Kennedy. So I would suggest pretty much anywhere along the river on US1 in Titusville. I know lots of people flock to the hotels to see it. Also, definitely plan to arrive at least an hour early and stay for an hour or two after to avoid traffic. I'd recommend walking to a nearby restaurant/shopping center afterward to spend some time so you don't sit in bumper to bumper traffic for hours.

Depending on clouds, you can see the launch from just about anyplace in Central Florida. We usually step out our front door. We did see it from the parking lot of the CBR one year we were at Disney during a launch.

I agree. We watch launches from our yard when we are in Vero Beach. When the TV says "We have liftoff" we head outdoors.

The first launch we saw was from the parking lot at Boardwalk. It was a night launch and very impressive. The sky was so bright the birds started to tweet at 1 AM!

We have seen the shuttle launch once from Disneyworld but for the space fanatic he is, that just wasn't a good enough experience. He really wants to see it and probably hear it from a closer point of view. I was hoping to give him some tips but I know he will work it out. I myself am shameful and don't want to spend a day waiting for a launch. I wish we could have gotten a bus tour ticket, they did pick up, Kennedy time, causeway viewing, and return trip.....

sometimes last minute planning just isn't it.

Thanks

Are there any Astronaut Hall of Fame tickets left? It's not quite as good as the causeway or space center, but when I saw a launch there, they still put up a big screen to watch all the pre-launch stuff, they had astronauts come give talks, and there was just plenty to do to keep entertained until the launch. It was also a decent view of the launch, and they have parking there.
