I know that it is STILL 6 months away, but I am already OCD'ing over what I am going to need to pack for our trip in November. I have read the weather history sites saying that November is nice, but can get chilly at night--so I am not worried about melting in the sun or sweating to death. What I am worried about is having to bring both summer and winter clothes for us to take care of climatic changes. Will we need shorts, capris, or jeans????? Short-sleeves or long-sleeves???? Jackets, sweatshirts, winter coats???? Will it actually be warm enough to swim????? I want to make sure I have clothes for DD that will fit, so do I need to go ahead and buy up some shorts or capris now while they are available in a size bigger to fit in November in case she grows?

I know this sounds manicky, but any help or advice out there would be greatly appreciated!!! :thumbsup2

With weather that time of year, I'd suggest checking the forecast 10 days out and going from there (and re-checking again a few days before you go, just in case the forecast changes).

That said, I would recommend packing a little bit of everything, and planning to layer. I had the same situation my last trip, the last week of October in2005. Luckily, I brought a little of everything -- the weather changed drastically while we were there. The first couple of days were very hot and humid, then Hurricane Wilma went through. After the hurricane, the weather cooled off significantly -- too cool to even sit by the pool comfortably. Luckily, I had packed shorts, capris, and long pants, not knowing what I'd need -- and ended up using all three!

I also did laundry mid-trip. That was a lifesaver! That way, whatever you end up using, you can wash things.

We took capris, shorts, and jeans at that time of year and used them all. We wore t-shirts with a sweatshirt or lightweight pullover on top (something that we could take off and tie around our waist easily). We swam. I think the pools are heated, but it was freezing walking back to the room. One day it would be hot in the day, and the next day freezing. I love going that time of year, we just always have to pack more variety. But you will love it; you can walk right onto the rides (unless it is Thanksgiving week).

I am with the op. I am going in nov and I have no idea what I should bring. I plan to wear jeans and jacket there and pack a varity. We will have a washer. If I need to I will wash the jeans over = again. However I hate getting into or out of a pool when the air is cold:scared1: I really want it warm enough to swim.

First ever family trip for us, the last week of November. I plan to pack the kids pants (with the zip off shorts ability) and t-shirts with a very light jacket for the evenings/mornings. I would assume I will be buying sweatshirts at the parks to take home anyway, besides, one less thing for me to pack for the trip there! Oh, and we will be swimming! We're Canadians so there's just something so strange about swimming outside in November to us. We'll have to take advantage of that! Enjoy and lets keep our fingers crossed for nice...consistant weather this November! :thumbsup2

We were there from Tues before Thanksgiving to Tues after last year for a grand gathering. Family from PA, upstate NY, Boston & South Shore of MA. We wore long pants & sweaters on plane down & needed the long pants & sweater for 1st 2 days. Rest of time the "ladies" were all comfortable in capris & 3/4 sleeve or short sleeve tops. The "guys" wore shorts most of the time. We never even considered going swimming until the day we were leaving. Definitely needed something warm at night, not winter coats & not hats & gloves, but sweatshirts, lined windbreaker, quilted spring jacket. Definitely did not want to get soaked on KRR or Splash, needed those cheap ponchos for those rides.

We have been to disney twice in the beginning of Nov. It was a nice of year the day temps ranged from 75 to 85. The guys mainly wore shorts and tees and I wore capris & shorts and tees. In the morning we would where a denimn shirt over the tee and at some point tie it around our waste at night sometimes pants or capris and a light jacket or sweatshirt definetly not winter clothes. And we swam every day and went to the water parks. The pools were'nt as warm as we like them but definetly swimable but cool in the evening especially when you get out. It's nice weather for touring the parks not to hot & not to crowded.

Capris usually do the trick, just bring the sweatshirt, you'll need not just at night but at times during the day too.

I also second waiting to do the majority of the packing until 10 days out. Fall is such an iffy time in Florida that I would pack for a happy medium between the high and the low then bring layering pieces to fill in the wardrobe.

Splash is totally doable, it's not like you get that soaked. As for Kali, there was no wait whatsoever last November, but we walked right past it! With a full day planned in the park last thing I wanted was to be wet.

Then again, I did the Macy's parade 3 weeks later where I was soaking wet. SpongeBob balloon and rain = soaked employee for most of Thanksgiving weekend. Kali would've been dry in comparison.

And the answer to swimming is to alternate between the hot tub and the pool. Pools are also empty which is nice. :fish:

From NE here, used to all kinds of weather! Went to WDW in End of Nov and End of Dec before, Nov was good did need ponchos and used sweatshirts at night. Dec/Jan wore mittens and scarves a couple nights, I remember the night is was 53!! I was never freezing, but never hot. I had T shirts I had made for myself and DD, so I didn't want to cover all that work, so we wore long sleeves under the tee's and did fine too.

Its like 70 during the day :)

We were there last Nov from the 13th - 21st. The first few days were very warm - 80's and it got colder from there and windy. By the last day, we were wearing our winter coats and hats at night - it was warmer and sunny in the day (65 - 70) which made it feel that much colder at night - it was 49 degrees when we got back to our hotel room after Wishes on our last night. Disney even pulled out warm coats, hats and mitts to sell (and they sold plenty) - we brought ours because we drove down from Atlantic Canada - in fact on 3 days of our trip it was warmer here than in Florida! I had only packed for 4 days of pants/sweatshirts, so I ended up having to do some laundry - but we still had fun and believe it or not - people were still swimming in the pools (at night!). Although we were told that weather was unusually cool - I'd say be prepared for anything. The first time we went during those dates, the weather was beautiful and warm - shorts and T's all day with a light sweater in the mornings and evenings.

We usually go the first or second week of November. I found the weather to be warm enough to be comfortable in shorts or capris with a short sleeved shirt. My boys were never in anything other than shorts. During the day, it was also warm enough to swim. The evenings were the only time where a light jacket or sweatshirt were advisable, but I never had to go so far as to wear winter clothes.

I would check the weather forcast, as well, since one year, we had temperatures in the upper 80's the whole time.

Have fun!

Don't start packing until you start watching the weather. Accuweather has a 15 day forecast, so you can start watching 5 days sooner than Weather.com

It was on the cold side early Thanksgiving week(we didn't wear winter coats, but a lot of people did). But I did some research on another weather(Weatherunderground?) they have historical data going back years. Last year seemed to be "not normal" so I am keeping my fingers crossed.

Plan on buying the kids some of that thin long underwear tops(DH swears by his and kicks himself for not packing them) just in case I might need them sooner for WDW, then Jan or Feb in NW Ohio.
