Boatwrights! Riverside Resort. I had the Shrimp n Grits years ago and wanted to relive the amazing experience. The dish has changed! Grits were a little runny and in short supply compared to previous. They tasted great though. They have added texture to them I was not sure of..maybe onions? There was some unexpected chew. The shrimp was perfect, The new spicy sausage was a bit overpowering (too much of it compared to the rest of the dish) and hot for Disney. The garlic was strong. If you like spicy hot very garlicky dishes you will love it!
The corn bread was great! Crispy outside tender inside!

Dinner at Cinderella's Castle

Goal - To revist a special childhood memory .

Understanding - that I'm not into meeting characters and secretly I went assuming it could not live up to memories and certainly not the high cost for someone dining without kids and Princess interests.

This was a magical experience start to finish! The magic was real and present. Did you know that the Disney family crest is on the fireplace in the Great room you wait in to meet Cinderella? Did you see the mice in the rafters above? So many special details..

I planned a time that was well before fireworks so no competition for fireworks view. I asked for a window seat knowing they have a 2 top by a window and hoping for pixie got the special table! The best part is it is away from the noisy center room and felt like a fine dining venue. Much quieter than central area.

The food over the years receives mixed reviews. I was prepared to have my magical
evening and overlook it. WELL wow! I was blown away!!

The shrimp appetizer was exceptional!! It had a complex flavor profile I was not expecting. It had something drizzled over I cant remember and the shrimp sit on an avocado cream.
Superb!!

The fillet was perfectly cooked and the compound butter made it decadent.

The dessert was lovely. The chocolate mousse center was nice. This was all about the presentation.

The server was excellent and took great care.
I did have to mention he "forgot" to give me a wishing star so he promptly corrected that small error :)

I may have to enjoy this experience again! I was delightful.
