November 8, 2008 7 Night Eastern 11/8/2008 11-8-2008 FIRST POST UPDATED ON 10/16/08

Welcome all the new people.

For the FE people, we got our room number today it is 7578 which is Starboard midship on the 7th Floor. I think we are the only ones on the 7th floor. Can deliver the 6th Floor take midship stairs to 7th, drop the one and then up to 8th for those there.

Hope everyone travels safely.

Heard on the news that the shuttle is moved to launch on 11/14 at 7:55 p.m. Since we will be coming back from Castaway Cay to the Port that night I would be surprised if you would not see it from the ship.

What a way to start and end the cruise, Blue angels on first day and shuttle launch on the last day.

We started packing a lot last weekend because my boss started a trial this week that will be going all next week as well which means probably working 50 hours. Cruise will be much needed by then.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

DeAnna and J.R.

I wouldn't subject anyone, especially all you guys, to my singing :rolleyes1  but I LOVE to go and watch. My husband may get up and sing... you never know. What night are we thinking? We have early seating for dinner. What about everyone else?

Well, I'm going up to PA to visit my parents this weekend, so I better get a move on it because I want to be up there before dark and haven't even packed yet (ugh!!!:scared: more packing). My children don't have school today, so I'm hoping to get out of here by noon or so.

I still have so much to do next week. I'm starting to get nervous. Oh well, I always seem to get it all done in the end. I can't wait to meet everyone. Talk with you soon.

Gretchen

We have late dinner seating.

As far as the karaoke goes, count me out. I lived in Hawaii for 8 years and karaoke was everywhere. Having listened to all those drunk military and tourist singers has destroyed my ability to go near any place with a sign advertising (warning) of karaoke inside! I've heard enough for this life time... maybe the next too :)

We have late seating.

Count DH and me in for the Karaoke but only to cheer on the rest of you as neither of us can sing a bit :) My only suggestion for which night is NOT the first night cuz I don't think there's daycare the first night.

It's raining here in South Florida which is typical for Halloween...At least the temp is warming up.

see you all soon.

Welcome!!!!! to all the new people who have joined the thread lately!!!!!

Well, I'm getting SOOOOO excited. Only about a week to go. I've started my packing but right now it is just in piles in the guest bedroom. I need to get moving or I'll be packing last minute which I always seem to do and I promised myself this time it would be different:confused3 .

I wish we could get in earlier on Friday because it looks like alot of people are staying at the Radisson the night before. I could definitely get the party started a day early but we won't be getting to the Radisson until around 11pm or so. I'm assuming everyone will be in for the night by then but if not:banana: :banana: . I don't remember if they have a bar at the hotel or not. Does anyone know? Will anyone be out that late?

So has anyone heard what is happening in St Marteen? Will anything be open? I have been searching but I have not been able to find much.

I hope everyone has a great week packing:rotfl2: and I can't wait to meet everyone at the DIS meet on Saturday.

Gretchen
Gretchen,

This is what we booked for St. Maarten. It's a pirate ship! The dock is within walking distance of the cruise port

Is anyone else getting so excited about leaving that they can't sleep?:confused3 I am having trouble sleepng, I think it is because I am thinking about all the things I want and need to do before we leave.

I know that I will end up packing way too much stuff!!! I do that on every vacation we go on.

I can't wait to meet everyone at the Meet-n-Greet.

Thanks for all of your hard work Kate!:worship:

Can't believe we leave a week from today to drive to FL!!!!!!:yay:

I can relate to the sleep issue! Everytime my head hits the pillow about one hundred things begin to run in my mind that need done. This has been going on way too long so now I have sleeping pills and that is the only thing that helps!:cloud9: .

We had Trick or Treat last night because of football tonight! However, we had football last night too, so we missed it entirely.

Hope all the little ones have a good time tonight!:wizard:

Don't forget to set your clocks back tomorrow night if you are in the daylight saving time zone! Yea, one more hour to pack!:rotfl: :rotfl:

I took a dress to be altered at 10:30 this morning and just picked it up at 4:00. You can't beat that service!

We have everything ready to pack...hanging on hangers or folded on the spare beds. That will be a Sunday and Monday job. We leave early Tuesday morning....can't wait!

Guess who has the sore throat now:scared1: ? Sitting out in the cold night air at the football game last night did it, but I got a z-pack started and I think I should be fine by Tuesday. There is nothing worse than your ears being blocked up and flying!:upsidedow .

I am so anxxious to meet everyone next week. Our friends Jan and Howie are coming to the meet with us. They are excited to meet everyone too.

Chase that rain away in Florida! Glad that it is warmer!

See everyone soon!:wave2:

Hi everyone! Happy Halloween! I'm about half packed, but all of the other things that need to be done I can't even imagine getting everything done in time:scared: We leave a week from today:banana: I still need to buy sunscreen! I probably shouldn't have left that until it was freezing. It is a lot harder, though not impossible, to find.

I'm always in for watching karaoke, but no one wants to hear me or (especially) my mother sing:scared1: We have late dining if it matters.

I also saw a post about dengue fever in St Maarten on the main boards, so make sure you have bug repellent. I'm not telling my mother because she's known to panic, and it's not a major outbreak, but just thought I would mention it.

Thanks for the report. I always bring insect repellent as dh will get bit when no one else will know there is anything out there. I will be sure to spray him. I would think Disney would be aware of this and let us know as well.

WELCOME! glad you stopped by. Hope to meet you a week from Saturday!!

Mimi'sgirl, drive safely and have a great time. The weather should cooperate with you now! Still chilly in FL but nothing the northerners can't handle!!

Megamousehouse glad you finished your FE. Got mine in the mail yesterday. It is cute, although a bit small. That is fine. it is cute!

born2cruise. so glad you got your paperwork. What a stressor!

Wendy are you staying with Dee and the group the night before? what time do you plan to get into port?

I still haven't even started packing. I need to sit down and make a list. I know there was one posted on here for Morgan4 soio I will take a look back and see if I can find it. TTFN

Yes we will be staying with them. Sorry I haven't been on here, but I'm still fighting this cold and am trying to get all the sleep I can. I have to say I haven't felt bad since last Friday and Saturday. The rest of the week I was fine, but the sinus got worse. Now I feel fine and I think I'm on the mend. Just trying to get things done at less than warp speed so that I don't stress my body so that it can concentrate on getting better. See you soon.

Hey Dis party planners... first timer confusion here

Is the current plan is to have a November 8th Dis meet/greet at 3pm on the promenade deck (4th level) or promenade lounge (3rd level)?

If it's the promenade deck, where are we going to meet? Port or Starboard?

Sorry I guess that is poor choice of words :confused3 . I should have said the Lounge

Yeah! Doing the happy dance along with everyone else!! :cool1: :rotfl2: :yay:
I am sooooo ready for this cruise! We Floridians have been suffering along with the rest of our northern friends freezing our little bippys off! (not sure what that means but it sounded good!) I had to blanket my horse last night! Poor guy, didn't even get his winter coat yet!

The good news: it's warming up by the weekend back to 80 degrees! Yeah!! Anyway...let the countdown begin!

Deborah

Welcome Jumbo29 try to make it to the meeting if you can. It is fun to meet everyone that you've been writing to all this time.

1 more week and we'll all be on board the Magic:woohoo:  :woohoo: . 1 week of NO cooking, washing the dishes, :laundy: etc. :thumbsup2 .

Yeah! Doing the happy dance along with everyone else!! :cool1:  :yay:

You guys sick of my count down yet?!!! Almost there folks...we can see the light at the end of the tunnel!!

From what I have read about St. Maarten Day, businesses near the ports are exempt should they choose to stay open. I booked horse back riding and Rhino Rider tours for our family that day and both of those places will be open. They both have revised schedules though.

See ya soon!
Deborah

We are not sick of the count down as we all have been doing it since.........lets see when I made the reservation in 2006:lmao:

Yes you would think that Disney would have something posted, not that it would scare the majority of people off since they already paid for the cruise. Heck I'll just leave my cold germs there as payback. :lmao:

Well everyone I'm off to finish off last minute things and to get my package ready for sending to the ship. See you all soon

Hello Everyone! We have had a rough few months  but we are soooo looking forward to cruising. My laptop broke and so I have not been online other than at work for quite some time, so thanks for checking on me Randi :flower3: ! yes, I am ALIVE and ready to relax and have no worries :cool1: . This is also a shout out to Morgan4, I sent a PM before I went underground :upsidedow saying that regrettably we had to bow out of the gift exchange, but I just read your (old) PM and realized that my message never got to you because I don't have enough posts to PM back. I am so sorry, I hope that this does not mess things up (which it probably will) So if anyone is reading this that is doing the gift exchange, I apologize to you too. (ironically, this post will be my tenth, thus allowing me PM priviledges) See you all soon and you can give me forty lashes!pirate:

PS - we live in NH and it SNOWED last Wed! :santa:

Hey, Jumbo29
We have the opposite problem...it's been too warm in Chicagoland and our horses already have their winter coats! Poor furballs.

Sounds like lots of people have colds (us, too). We are so looking forward to finding various places to lounge around the ship and snooze, particularly on those wonderful at -sea days. The last time we did an Eastern Caribbean on Magic was two years ago in February, and it rained at some point every day of the cruise. Didn't ruin anything, just made for some dreary photos. Hope this one will be better weather wise!

We have actually finally begun packing, and plan to be finished completely by Monday as both DH and I have crazy weeks at work before we leave Friday afternoon!

Looking forward to seeing everyone...safe travels!

Stiner,

Where in NH are you from? Living in Fl now but grew up in Concord and DH grew up in Berlin. Our son lives in New Boston and is hoping for lots of snow this year! He plows in the winter!
