I am handing out finger paints for my FE gify so the kist will have something to do.

Seriously, I am kidding. I did not have a joke so I had to come up with something. I have spent my whole evening in the emergency room with my MIL who looks like she went a couple rounds with Joe the plummer (okay I could not resist). So needeless to say I am tired and punchy.

I did not get to finish the FE's as planned. Regretfully itis raining here so our annual family pumpkin patch outing will no doubt be cancelled. I guess I can use that time to get some stuff done.

Well it is off the bed. Chat more tomorrow

Here is alittle hoping that she is on the mend. That is a shame she really is having a time of it. Email me and let me know what happened. We had a cool evening, but no rain in sight til Tues. We haven't had rain in a long time. Hope we get some soon. Take care and hope you got some sleep. Always a little drama to keep your day exciting. Can you, Kate, update the list with number of adults and children by age? That was a great list.
Time is getting short and I've actually completed shopping for the FE gifts. As new people join in all I just need to do is add to my box of goodies. I guess the best thing, at this point, for all of us involved in the FE Gifts, is to keep alert of any newcomers who want to paticipate. This way you can ensure that you are prepared so that you are not caught short of gifts. Hopefully we will be able to get a final total count of adults and kids nlt Saturday the 1st of November. Kate has been doing such an excellent job of keeping up with this list. By seeing an updated list by Saturday 1 Nov if any of us need to buy more gifts we have just enough time to do that. I'm just one who likes to be a little organized especially with the limited time that I have during the week. I'm sure there are others of you in the same situation so I am thinking of you too! I do not want to be caught short of FE Gifts for any of the participants as that would make me feel very I want to be prepared and have fun with this. To me the fun part starts with the delivering of the gifts!!!!
Twenty-Two more days Got to get going and start organizing things here.

If you could list how many kids are in the rooms that would be extremely helpful. I'm making up the bags and want to be sure I have enough in each bag for each kid. I'd be mortified to make a bag for 2 kids and have 3 kids in a room!!! Thanks so much!

Well it is that time. I have done EVERYTHING possible to put off the making of the FE. I have done all the gifts for the exhange, I have made magnets, I have packed and now today is the day. I do not sew, though I would love to learn and even bought a machine, so I will be making a new sew option today. I have fabric and iron on tape. The lady assured me it would work. It will be darn funny if my pockets fall off mid cruise. I may have to pack an emergency tote bag in case the real FE falls apart. Hopefully later today I will be able to post a success story about how the FE process went wonderfully but I am not holding my breath!!!

CRUISE DOCS!!!

I have also submitted my dissertation yesterday. Two more weeks and it will all be over and I can start packing for the cruise!

Congrats on the dissertation! When do you defend the diss? I'm a prof, myself, and we took our first trip to Disney the day I finished my comprehensive exams. I took a little mickey mouse into the oral defense part just to remind myself that I could run away and pretend it never happened when the exam was done. I took the comps 3 mths pregnant and threw up every 1/2 hour. Somehow going to disney cured the morning sickness... except when we did the teacup ride! I am actually doing research now on educational vacations so I can pretend (at least in my own mind) that I am doing research while on the cruise

Be proud of yourself!

What is everyone doing on St Thomas?

We don't have anything planned and are wondering if we should go to St. John....sitesee on St Thomas.... shopping is a must (because of St Maartens Day).

There is so much shopping right at the dock in St. Thomas so we are doing the walking tour because what I really want to do is go to Blackbeard's Castle. That is something we have not done in St. Thomas.

My mom and I are going to be doing the Butterfly farm! It sounds like it should be pretty fun and it was only $15.00 a person!

We are also doing the butterfly farm, but I thought the price was much higher than that. Was there more than one choice?

Cause I am in it( will not be really, LOL), but Disney Pin Table, that my dad built for me! I just got my magazine in the mail today and when I say, that they put in there I was soooooooo very excited( that I was jumping up and down)!!! Just had to share with all of you!

I am fially done. My DSis and I finished the FE's tonight. I like a couple of them and a couple , not so much. I do not hate them enough to rip apart again and re-do. So I thought I would share them with you all. I am open to corrective criticism

Here is the first one.

Here is the second one. This one I used the lanyards they give us and made a 8X10 picture frame.:

Here is the third one. The pockets were made from a panel fabric.

Here is the last one. We made a smaller pocket on top to accomadate a post it note pad and pen.

Awesome job on the FE's. They are great. I have been working all day on mine. I am almost done and hopefully by tomorrow will be able to take a photo and post it. I did not sew it so I am praying that when it gets to the ship the pockets all stay on. I love your creative use of the castaway club lanyards!!! I have always wondered what I should do with all those that I am collecting.

I love all of the FE's and really admire your talent. We are going to really have some outstanding decorations on this cruise.

Last time we had some FE made from paper bags and they were quite cute, but I just could not get the nack of that. I guess that is why dh has the talent for putting together things for me!

Is everyone in the packing mode??

I can tell you for sure that Princess Jasmine knows something is going on in this house because all she does is sit up and beg to be carried. If you are carrying her you can't do anything else. We had a dog that would jump in the suitcase as soon as you got it out, but this one has not tried that trick....yet! Our friend is going to stay at our house with her so that should be good...I hope! She is a wild child if ever a dog could be, all seven pounds of her!

We will soon be off to our last regular season football game and then playoffs begin...

I don't have our personalization on yet but the rest is all done. I will have to get a photo taken and downloaded. If I have some time tonight to figure out how to do that I will. Otherwise it may be in the next couple of days. For a no sew approach didn't turn out too bad.

I just realized that we have two weekends left. No pressure or anything. And we all know that one wekend will be used to get hair done and pedicures. So basically we are down one weekend. Can you say STRESSED. Yup starting to feel it already.

I am shipping my box down to the port this week. I am planning on 30 for te FE. Please let me know if this is incorrect.
