November 30, 2013 Eastern Caribbean on the Fantasy

Hello,
We are a family of 5 residing in Atlanta, GA.

We are frequent RCCL cruisers and took our first ride on the Fantasy this past May. With our kids ages, it was just too difficult to pass up again.

James, Coley, Sophia (5), Sydney (2) and Rusty The Aussie (4) who unfortunately won't be allowed to come.

PS If anyone on this board is the Facebook moderator, please let me in :-)
James
Hi Everyone,
I am already set up on the Facebook pages, but wanted to say hello on the DIS forum. We are counting down the days and looking forward to meeting everyone :)

We booked this cruise last week. Can't wait! I'll look up the FB group.

I posted this on the Facebook page but I'll put it here too. DW and are an older couple. Our kids are grown and married. This will be our fifth cruise but our first 7 day to different islands. We may sound dull but we aren't really beach people, except Castaway Cay. We don't drink so bars don't appeal to us. We do like to shop and sightsee. I am an amature photographer and love to take scenic pictures. So at the ports of call we will visit, are there things to visit and places to shop within walking distance of the ship?

Also, are there DCL approved tours and excursions at each port? We haven't been able to do DCL online check in yet to look.

Thanks. :surfweb:

I just posted something for you over on the Facebook page- if you'd like I can copy it over here for you.

I hope that the information helps you!

Okay, another old person question...When you get off the ship at Nassau you only need to take you Key to the World card and a government issued ID. How about the islands we are visiting on this trip? I think I saw somewhere to only carry a COPY of your passport and leave the real one on board.

Hello, my husband, son (2), daughter (9), and I will be sailing on this cruise also. We were looking to join a fish extender group. Is it to late? How many people are in the group. I also sent a request to join the Facebook group. This will be our fourth Disney cruise and we are looking forward to meeting some new people. We have the main dinner seating. Anyone looking for seat mates?

Welcome aboard, to all our newest cruisers! :boat: :beach: :sail::santa: pirate: :drinking1 :wave2:

I think my counter thingy is off by a few days. :scratchin

The counter is actually right- it's including the day of departure in your total. Either way, it's exciting!

Just made a new one, it was saying 106 days earlier, and I knew that was wrong, ha. ;)

You do not need bring your passport off the ship when you visit ports. Just your drivers license and key to the world
Card will do!

You should be able to go to the DCL website and under the "planning" tab at the top find all of the ports and the excursions that will be available at each one. You may have to sign in using your reservation # & birthdate, but they want you to look at those before your booking window opens! We also have a private tour I have put together you can sign up for. Have you joined our Facebook page? Here are the links for the St. Maarten tour I have booked:
http://www.bernardstours.com/tours.html It is Island Tour #2

and the link to sign up for the tour: https://www.facebook.com/groups/359332857421614/doc/594427297245501/

You do know we are not visiting Nassau this trip?

Why don't you post on the Facebook page you are looking for seat mates? We have a huge group for Late Dining, maybe you can get something started for Early Dining!!:yay:

Have you joined our FB group yet? Once you do there is a form to put your information in to join our fish extender group!! :)

My countdown ticker is definitely messed up, LOL. I tried reinstalling it, but it won't move, and we're now below 100 days. I really liked the small design, but if it's not working, I'll have to delete it.

Hi everyone! I'm excited to be joining you all on this cruise. Our party is myself, my husband, our two boys (12 and 14) and my in-laws. This is the second Disney cruise for my in-laws, the 4th for the rest of us. We are really looking forward to it!

I have two questions for you all.... first, is anyone worried about announcing to the facebook world your real name and the dates you will be on your cruise by joining the facebook group? Not that we have anything worth stealing, and we have a dog sitter staying at our house anyway...maybe I am just paranoid? Am I misunderstanding how the fb group works? I feel like I am missing out by not being in the group but it makes me a bit uncomfortable to put my life out there like that.

Second, have any of the concierge/gold/platinum members noticed if there are any cabanas left? My hubby and his Dad *really* want one - they need the shade and quiet place! If anyone has one booked but changes your mind, please let me know and I will be happy to take it off your hands and buy you a drink on the ship to show my appreciation!

The Facebook page is a private page, so any of your friends/relatives that can get to your regular Facebook page won't be able to see any of the posts for the cruise.

Cabanas- right now they are all booked, but keep checking back- because as the cruise gets closer, some might cancel. And it wouldn't hurt to check with Guest Services on embarkation day once you board either.

Welcome to our Amazing Cruise!!

We are avid Disney fans and have been on quite a few DCL cruises. But this will be our honeymoon and we are very excited!!
