November 25, 2012: Mexican Riviera on the Wonder

I have added your thread to the cruise meet list :)

Have a great cruise!

Yay! I was starting to think I was going to be the only DISer on this cruise! :yay:

This is our second cruise on the Wonder, but the first was over 10 years ago. I am apprehensive about getting too excited because we just canceled our WDW vacation a day before it began because of a medical situation. Hopefully it will be resolved by November and we cam take our cruise!

Oh, I really hope it works out for you!!

I am trying to talk DH into this cruise, especially if DCL isn't going to offer any cruises out of LA next fall. I know there are only 2 of you here so far, but were either of you thinking about doing a FE exchange? A cruise wouldn't be the same for our daughters if there was no FE exchange!

I do want to participate in a FE, but I don't want to organize it! I've never done one before.

I know I read your TR and got a lot of valuable information that helped push me over the edge to do it. I read two at the same time, did you stay concierge or was that the other TR I read?

Hey, just bumping and checking in. I guess there aren't many DISers going to be on this cruise....

So excited this is my first cruise! Can't wait to take my son and enjoy a vacation with my best friends!

:welcome: Welcome to the DIS and the cruise thread, I'm glad to see that there are more of us joining in. I hope we can get a Fish Extender exchange going, and I hope a veteran comes in and can help organize it!

"Fish Extender Exchange" ??? Where can I learn what this is and what other terms mean?!? I'm so excited, I want to make this trip for my son great so i'll be reading through all the forums and threads for ideas and tips.

There are plenty of threads to tell you about the FEs. Your.son would love it, but essentially everyone on the DIS that is on the cruise exchanges little trinkets via little "mailboxes" called Fish Extenders. The are hung outside the stateroom door and throughout the cruise you return to you room to find gifts. I've heard that kids really enjoy receiving the gifts. Sometimes they're jewelry, key chains, glow sticks, anything your fellow cruisers think of.

Hello!

First time cruisin with Disney and heard about FE exchange. Thanks to Google for leading me to this site. I would love to join in the exchange. This would be exciting. Any info you can share for a rookie? Thanks!

I've been on a cruise before, back in the Wonder's first or second year, but there wasn't a DIS or FE back then. I'm hoping that a veteran Disney cruiser signs up for our voyage and can help set up some meets and FE!

Okay, I just looked up what FE were. And boy, am I in. I would even think of organizing it if someone can point me in the right direction. It's our first Disney cruise.

I'm sure there are plenty of people on this board that would help you out in how to organize it. I would love to participate, but I'm just so swamped with awful stuff going on in my personal life, I can't take on another responsibility. I think it would be a fun diversion to come up with little gifts for people on the cruise though.

Hello all, just joined the DIS boards and already have this trip booked. It will be for my wife and I's 5th year wedding anniversary. This is our first cruise and have been researching all the secret tips about the Disney Cruises.

So far, got the fish extender exchange, door decorations with magnets, character signatures with guest relations, and order Mickey bars with room service.

Any other tips??

Welcome! We're practically neighbors! Are you planning on dining at Palo? I've got a brunch and a dinner reservation set up. I'm thinking about when to do spa treatments, and have you figured out if you will be booking excursions in Cabo and PV?

I'm hoping someone here volunteers to head up the FEE for our cruise it sounds like fun! Not sure how many folks we have on board so far....

Since this is our first Disney cruise, I can't book Palo and other things till Sept 11 (75 day marker). Grrrrrrr.

What other DISNEY cruises have you been on? Have you been on the Wonder?

@franandaj like @sheadley. I can't book anything until 09/11, but I do plan to dine at Palo. As far as Cabo and PV excursions, my planning could be limited as my wife is currently in a wheelchair and has difficulty with mobility on her own. She's going through rehabilitation therapy she's improving everyday so as hopefully our activities are not so limited.

As far the FE exchange, we do plan to participate. Still trying to decide whether to limit it to groups within this cruise forum, or just my deck or random fish extenders.

I think it would be easier for those in this forum that want to participate to just list the number of adults and kids and their stateroom.
