Hey all, 50 years ago tomorrow (November 22) a significant event occurred... besides what happened in my home state of Texas....

Walt Disney was on his last day of searching for an east coast location for a new Disneyland. He had a couple thoughts on location but wanted to go through the entire itinerary before making a decision. His party drove around the Ocala area and did not like the area. They hopped on their plane and flew south to look over the southern half of the state from the air and then return to CA. As they overflew the sleepy hamlet of Orlando, (population less than 70k) they noticed the intersection of I-4 and the not yet completed FL Turnpike. Everyone in the plane knew that this intersection was the location for a new DL.

Something good came from that tragic and dark day.

I know its not a running post but it made me think of something...related to Disney and bad things that would later turn good....
Remember his original character Oswald? Oswald who was stolen from him and he became so distraught...he would later begin sketching images of a mouse (Mortimor, who apparently was a real mouse living in his garage where he worked at the time)...
