Anyone coming aboard??? We had originally planned a 7 day, but my girls are really wanting to do Sea World and MVMCP at WDW, so am probably switching to this cruise...???? Will be myself(mom age 45), dd 10 and dd 7(at the time of cruise). Not sure if my sisterinlaw is coming. Daddy has major motion sickness and teaches, so our disney trips are usually girls only.

OK, little ole me here waiting for you all. My trip is planned.... arrive saturday the 14th, staying at Pop... will do some disney park(DS??) Sunday Discovery Cove, Monday WDW, Tuesday WDW or Sea World, Wed WDW or Sea World, then head to Cocoa Beach..... board ship early Thursday, for 3 day cruise!! Going to go to Atlantis on Friday and spend the day. Probably either rent room from Comfort Suites or Atlantis direct, whichever I can find the best price.... :) Just hang out at CC, not doing an excursion....

can't wait!!

edit: I am now going to be staying at Bay Lake Tower. Rented points off dvc member. Excited!

Hi Scootch!
That was my ex-husband's nickname for me, so that kind of brought back some weird memories. But I won't hold it against ya! :thumbsup2

Anyway, if you do go on the Nov 19th cruise, we'll be there with you after spending a week at WDW. We're staying at Animal Kingdom Villas from Nov 12-19th, heading for Port Canaveral the morning of the 19th after the Sunrise Safari at AK. My sister and her husband are flying out from Oregon to spend the week with us on our DVC points. They return home the 19th while we head for the Wonder to relax and recuperate after our week of walking the parks.

We've been on 3 previous Disney cruises, the last one in Dec 07, so we're eager for another one. I'm a retired federal employee (secretary) and my husband is a carpenter, so no kids with us. We've snagged one of the secret porthole staterooms on deck 5 so we're all set. We love our Disney cruises and just wish we could afford one of the double dip cruises with 2 visits to Castaway Cay. We plan on parasailing, renting bikes, and doing something else on or in the water on Castway Cay.

Last time we toured Atlantis Resort and really enjoyed walking the beautiful grounds and visiting the aquarium. We had thought about going in with someone this time and renting a day room at Atlantis so we could visit their water park. I haven't checked current prices, but I've read where some cruisers do that and it gives them a place to relax and change clothes after enjoying the water park.

Sounds like you've got lots of activities planned for Orlando. Hope you and your girls enjoy your trip, and we're looking forward to seeing you on the Wonder.

wow...someone joined me... yea...!!!! :cool1: Thought I was going to be here by myself forever, haha..... sorry about the name, too funny. It is what my husband calls me.

I originally had planned on the 7 day double castaway cay. There are about 8 families from my daughters school going. We had it booked and everything. Sitting down a few weeks ago, come to find out that my youngest is the only one under 8 and that the ratio of kids was 11 boys to 4 girls(2 of which are mine). I could only see my youngest whining the whole week because she can't be with the other kids and I didn't really like the idea of 2 1/2 days at sea and her going to the kids clubs by herself(although my older DD could move down to her club). Also, the Cozumel dolphin swim where the group is going, I had to sign a waiver for the 7 year old to do the dolphin swim... didn't feel real comfortable with that...... so my new plan fits us much better.

The rates for CS and Atlantis are both fairly high right now(~350) so unless I find someone to go in on it with, would probably be cheaper for me to do the aquadventure thru DCL than with taxi fares and food on my own. It is the friday before Thanksgiving, so wondering if that has something to do with the rates. There is alot of time though between now and then, so we will see what the fares do.

I saw there were secret porthole rooms available. I had been going on a catagory 9 for our 7 day, but went ahead and dropped down to a catagory 11for this three day, figuring we would be up early and not in the room much anyhow. So we are near the deck 7 aft, figuring if I need light and air, I will walk out there. :)

so glad to hear you love DCL. We are looking forward to trying it. I am a bit nervous about my littlest one getting sea sick, probably another reason dipping our toes in the 3 day was better than starting out at a 7 day.

Hi Scootch!

I wouldn't worry about your little one getting seasick. I think kids handle it a lot better than adults do. :thumbsup2 It should be fairly calm in November, hopefully too late for hurricanes and too early for winter storms. We sailed in December with 18-foot seas once and it was a little tipsy but not too bad. The kids probably won't even notice any wave action. My DH is prone to motion sickness (he can't ride Star Tours or Rock-n-Roller Coaster, but he handled the cruise just fine.

Hopefully some more sailors will join us here as the time gets closer and maybe we can all meet up sometime in the cruise terminal or on the ship for a quick meet and greet. It's fun to meet someone you've gotten to know a little bit via the internet.

Got to run to Best Buy and pick up a small TV while they're on sale. We're outfitting our travel trailer and need an HDTV for when we're camping.

Catch up with you later. Cheer! Bev

Sounds like you like to travel Bev. I am right there with you. I did alot of traveling before I got married. Then my sweet hubby who is the grandest.... with the exception of having major vertigo issues, so he has so much difficulty flying. We drive to Virginia Beach or around there yearly for a 10 day vacation.... and then I just started taking my daughters without him for my extra splurges.:cheer2: Maybe my obsession for this vacation will die down for a bit now that i actually have made reservations and such... but then again, I enjoy the planning as much as the trip. Chat later... Amy with Mattisyn(age 9) and Mackenzey(age 6) pixiedust:

Hiya Everyone!
This is our bounceback cruise. We originally went on a 4 day this March. We are planning to come and stay at POP on the 16th and go to the VMCP at WDW. We have always come down during Easter and this is our first time seeing Disney at Christmas!
I am so excited! We are in 6558 near the midship elevators this time. Our last room was 6618 which was AFT. I wanted to try something different this time.
I can't wait to meet and do a FE exchange. :)
Christine

Booked Monday evening on the Bounceback offer. Looking forward for some nice R&R.

yes, a few newbies.... whose all coming with you. :cool1:

Christine, I just read your trip report.. sounds like you had a great time. My dd is 9 also. I am doing Atlantis, but was a bit worried about booking the room and going by myself there, so was going to do the one thru DCL. Money wise with lunch, the booking the room would save me some, but I worried about taking a taxi alone with my girls. We will be going to WDW a few days before the cruise, are you planning before or after????

In the taxis my DH and I rode with about 5 other people. I felt safe. It kinda reminded me of Chicago cabbies. We are going to WDW on November 16-18 and then are taking a limo to Port.
I am not sure about Atlantis yet. We have to see how it goes money wise. It's going to be around $2400 with just my air, hotel, and dining plan. We still have to purchase tickets for the Very Merrry Christmas Party which is going to be around $130.00 Thankfully I only have to pay taxes on the cruise. :)

Can you explain how the bounceback offer works? You didn't have to pick a time right on the cruise it appears, they gave you some days to decide??

We are really looking forward to going to Atlantis and swimming in that beautiful pool and beach. We will be in WDW from the night of the 15-19th too.... we may do the MVMCP on tuesday night unless another close family friends of ours end up going to WDW that same week. I wish they would decide so we can further make our plans. I know the party tickets go on sale May 1st, although I doubt a tuesday night would be a sell out night anyhow. We have done the party twice in the past.

Hi, we are on the cruise with you. We are using the bounce back offer.

Here is how the bounce back offer works- We went on a cruise in Feb. and received a voucher for a 3 day cruise between August and December. The voucher is for $99 per person in the same cabin category you booked on the previous cruise.

Although it is a great deal, they have had a lot of problems with the bookings. We originally had a different cruise booked but they would not honor our voucher for that date. So, now we are going with you and really looking forward to it.

Hello all! We will be in WDW from 11/14-11/19 then a fabulous 3 days on the Wonder!!:cool1::cool1::cool1:

We are DVC members, I think we will be staying at AKV. We were there for a few days before our cruise in Feb and fell in love, But I am torn about trying WLV or Bay Lake Tower. I will be making my mind up by the 14th b/c that is when I can call MS!

This will be our first cruise on the Wonder, we have been on the Magic 3x. It will be DH and I, my DBIL, and DM. No kids for us, although by then end of the 3 nights we may be behaving like kids ! LOL

Looking forward to hearing about everyone's plans...

Welcome... We are renting points and trying out the new BLT. I could only get a lake view though(renting a studio).

Anyone have anything special planned on our cruise?? excursions?? birthday/anniversaries???

219 days.... :cool1:

well tinkmom2 looks like we will be sailing with you again after all. on our bounceback cruise.

Only going to be the parents this time around. Kids are staying home with grandparents.

Do they have any special offers if you are sailing on your birthday? Mine is on the 21st. Maybe we will go to Palo's for dinner that night or something.

Look forward to getting to know everyone a little better.

My mom, aunt, 3-year old daughter and myself will be on this cruise to celebrate my daughter's "Gotcha Day," which is the 19th (and the day that she and I met in China). None of us have ever been on a cruise, though we are all (even the 3 year old) Disney veterans. I'm trying the 3 day cruise before investing heavily in the 7-day, lol. From what I read here, I'll be hooked!

We're also going to the parks in July for 10 days and for a long weekend in September. I'm looking forward to figuring this whole cruise thing out!

Hi gang!

Just wanted to check in and say hello. My family is also doing a "bounce back" cruise. It will be me, DH, DD10 and my mom. We've done two cruises, a 4-day a couple of years ago and then a 7-day Western this past February. On the one hand I feel like a 3-day cruise is so very short, but for only $99 per person, how could we really pass it up?! We are from St. Paul, MN and will be flying down the weekend before to spend a few days at the parks.

Princess Sparkle, I think maybe we cruised together before-were you a Valentine's Voyager?

Dawn :)

Yes we did! Crazy isn't it! I have to confess though, I did not come to any of the meets as I was being anti-social...lol. We are also spending some time in the parks before the cruise.
