November 18, 2006 Thanksgiving Magic Special Western 2X Castaway Cay 11/18/06

Wow,

That is so great to hear you guys are from Chicago. I'm actually from the "burbs" - Libertyville to be exact. We moved to California during the summer of 86'. It really is a small world.

Ok - here is the weather update:

Orlando Sunny 72/49 10% chance of rain

Castaway Cay Partly Cloudy 74/64 20% chance of rain

At Sea

Grand Cayman Scattered Showers/Wind 81/72 30% chance of rain (went down from 60%)

Cozumel Partly Cloudy 81/69 0% chance of rain

See you soon!

Andrea

Hey Chuck and Lisa:

Just popping in here to wish you a wonderful Thanksgiving cruise!

It looks like this will be a rebuilding year for the DIS Turkey Day Gang.

Chuck, you will need to represent us at all of the Decade nights, Disney Legs contest, and the Pirate Dancing. If you don't participate, at least give us a scouting report for next year!

It looks like the weather will be great for your cruise, so have a great time, and I hope that I will see you next year!

Michelle, I checked my Walmart, Taget, and Walgreen's. No little boxes of detergent. My little bags of powdered detergent are in my trash now. :) I kept the dryer sheets.

I'll be visiting Chicago for the first time this June. My youngest sister lives there and I've never seen her beautiful home. She lives in the same neighborhood the movie "Home Alone" was filmed in.

Those were some great pictures Andrew. We'll see what I can volunteer for this year. I'll try to post on both threads, especially since somuch of the gang is signed up for next year. 4 dayss to go.

Chuck :cool1:

Diszygram I am really sorry that you have been unable to find the deteregent. I will pick up extra if I find myself pack at Wal-Mart.

For those of you leaving tomorrow or Thursday have a safe trip and we will see you on Saturday.

Thank you for the offer Michelle. I'm just going to pay the few quarters and buy the cruise's detergent. We shouldn't have much laundry since we are bringing enough clothes for a month.

It's just the underwear I want to have clean when I pack it up to go home. :laundy: Wouldn't want any luggage inspectors passing out.

Well this will be our first Disney Cruise (our first cruise at all) and we are bringing a boatload. I've been up reading Sleepydog's trip report and after he mentioned meeting some fellow Dis'ers on his cruise, I thought I'd better get over to this thread and introduce ourselves.

We have 8 in our group. DisneySelf, DW, DD1, DD6, DS 8, DD 10, Sister & Mother. My son's last words before he went to bed last night were "We're going on a Disney cruise in less than a week and you're the best parents ever!" I'm quite confident that he thought we were the best parents ever even without the Disney Cruise, but hey, it doesn't hurt does it? :teeth:

We are in the late dinner seating. Deck 2, midship, two cabins.

We are from Texas, while Sister and Mother are from Oklahoma.

Can't wait.

The Holmes Clan

Hello Holmes Clan!

My name is Andrea and I'm single, 34, from Chicago originally but live in San Francisco. This is my second cruise but first Disney cruise. I'm very excited and am looking forward to meeting you on the cruise. I'll be traveling alone, on deck six, and the late seating.

Have a safe trip to Florida!

See you soon,

Andrea

Welcome Holmes clan. Hope you all come meet some of us at the sail away party. You are going to LOVE  your first cruise. Disney is the only cruise line I've been on and I can't imagine any other one being better.

Andrea, that weather report sounds almost perfect. :sunny:

We'd like to meet you. Can you share the information on the sail away party for those of us who are joining the party late?

Thanks for all the kind words Andrea, and yes, that weather report does sound great!

Welcome aboard folks!!!

I will try to add your info to our list and repost it.

As for the Sailaway Party we will be meeting on Deck 10 on the side that is against the port (so we can see the CM's wave with giant Mickey hands) above the Goofy stage.

Icemanpad and fam will be wearing bright gree shirts that wer epart of the DISgroup on last years cruise.

Diszygram can you repost what you will be in.

Cruisecrazy will be in a lime green tink shirt and DD will be in her green and white tink dress. I will also have the DISgreen mickey paint chip on the barett in my hair.

Andrea thanks for the weather report.

If you scroll backwards to response #174 on about page 12 or so, there is a picture of Lisa, Mason and myself, among other green clad folks from last year's sailaway party. We will have the same shirts on this year. plus, at 6'8" tall, I will be easy to spot in the terminal - or anywhere else for that matter.

All i can say to the Holmes clan is that it must be brutal every fall for the Red River classic when those two schools play since you are represented on both sides of the state line.

Chuck :cool1:

I'll be the jolly green grandmother in both a green polo shirt and green pants. My shirt has an iron-on decal with my board name on it. Both my 38 year old daughter and 7 year old grandson will have matching green Disney polo shirts.

The shirts are from the online Disney Store, which I have helped out financially a lot this past year. :teeth:

One big advantage of living in south florida or orlando are the charcter premier stores. these are the disney outlets and we can usually get disney erchandise, including even art sometimes, at 50% or more off retail. Less spent at the online store that way.

Chuck :cool1:

Wish we had spell check on here. :) Sometimes I can't believe the typos I make, even when I read over and correct what I just typed. The Terrible Typo Troll takes over my emails. :scared1:

Yes, it is further complicated by the fact that I work for yet another institution in the Big XII.

Look forward to meeting you.

I did not have the chance today to update our list. I will do that tomorrow.

So I ended up making 30 signs. I took them to work to today to make color copies (some are generic and used on multiple families doors so I ended up with a total of 51) then laminate. So I am upto my eyeballs in laminating film scraps.

So the forecast for Saturday is not looking as pretty anymore according to the local ews. The high is going to be low 70 says that guy on the ABC new a few moments ago. I know that is warm to most of you...but chilly to me.

Happy Packing!!!

Hi Guys,

Does anyone know how much they authorize our credit cards for when we check-in? I'm wondering if I need to shuffle some money around. Is it better to use a credit card or a debit card or does it matter?

Thanks for the help,

Andrea
