Since I was absent from this thread for a couple months (planning a move to China will do that to you) I didn't get in on the bracelets and was wondering what we should wear so you all will spot us. Green neacklaces sound good . Maybe I can find some little green rubber bracelets around here. The kids would like them. I think between those, the Castaway club ones in the room and their Oceaneers bracelets, they'll have bracelets up to their elbows-- and love it! :goodvibes

Any suggestions on other lime green stuff ? Should I bring a box of stick on name tags since the buttons aren't working out?

FEATHER BOAS! Yes, some of us (a few, a brave few) will be wearing feather boas. You can order some from www.dreamangels.net they have several kinds (Peg and I got the maribou, some folks got the feathers). Also a lime green Hawaiian lei will work, I've seen DISers wear those. You may be able to find those at a party store, but may have to search on line to find lime green (my party store didn't have that color). AND there's the old standy, Home Depot Mickey head paint 'chips'....alien green. I actually will have one of these dangling from my purse/backpack too. You can put your name on it then laminate it (I believe Kinkos can laminate for you).

Devin, I went back and added prices on my "Twice the Magic" post. T shirts are $14.99 and tote bags are $15.

Am I the only one who thinks the October double dippers are being awfully closed mouthed? :rolleyes1 Do you think it was a "What happens on the ship stays on the ship" kind of trip?!! :teeth: Still hoping to hear some kind of report from them before we leave.

LOL! Perhaps we'll see some trip reports show up this weekend.

This begs the question "Who will be writing a trip report?" from our group. Anyone planning on doing that? I have my Disney journal that Peg made for me as a Christmas gift and I PLAN to write in it each day. So far it just has my packing list in the back and this weekend I will add my DIS notes (like the list for the DIS lunch etc).

Any news about the final distag count? Have a great day everyone! :cheer2:

20 txaggie said in chat last night. She is preparing the list of names/room numbers to share with the participants.

DISTAG FINAL COUNT!!!!

you will need 20 gift bags!!!

just pm me your email and i will send you a preliminary list...i will make up one that looks all nice and pretty by the time we cruise!

does anyone know if they serve the same food both days at CC? not to be picky but that may get old....

i miss about 5 days and it ttakes me an hour to catch up! i am beginning to get all my stuff packed up today...my DH bought me new clothes over the weekend so i will have lots of nice stuff to wear each day!

about bathing suits....i like the type with the skirt to hide my hips and thighs....i never realize how unflattering they are until i wear a suit....last year i tried on some new ones at the store and need to double up on antidreppressants after that (of course a LARGO ICEY MOCHA helped too!)..i will same that website for the future...thanks!

anyone doing any spa treatments? we re going all out and doing one of the new villas thursday afternoon....

Now that's a good question! I don't remember anyone mentioning it in any of the double-dip trip reports I read. However, you could do burgers and dogs first stop and ribs and chicken the next. I say taste lots of things the first stop and you'll know what you like the best, and you can pig out on that the second stop! OR try and sneak off to the adult beach on one of the stops, as they usually have something special there (i.e. steak!). You can also have lunch on the ship....Parrot Cay and all the 'snack' places are open.

I threw this up on the main board, but since ait seems like a lots of the people here are repeats, and it will help us get to 5500, I'm reposting here.

Thanks,

Jack

Got a question.

We are cruising on the 11/11 Double Dip and are big time Giants Fans. The NFL just changed the Giants-Bears game on 11/12 to be on NBC Sunday Night Football at 8:30pm. Now, I know Disney owns ABC & ESPN, but will they have a game on NBC aired on the boat? Is there a sports specific bar on board that would carry the top game, even if it's on a competitors station?

Has anyone noticed this on a previous sailing? I thought I was going to miss this game, but now, I'm thinking I may be able to watch the game in the bar on the boat in the middle of the ocean...kinda cool. :cool1:

But the Giants just played on a Monday?!? Anyway I just checked and it's on ESPN which they do show on the ship. At least they have in the past. You should be fine.

Suzanne,

The Monday night games are on ESPN, but the Sunday night games are on NBC. The reason they moved this game to national TV is the Bears should be undefeated and the Giants most likely will be the next best team. Also, since it will be NY vs Chicago, NBC will get more TVs tuned to watch the game.

Hopefully it will help me to not miss what could be the most important game (if the Giants win) of the season.

I have to apologize again about the buttons. That lady still has not responded to anyone. There have been two other people to try and contact her and yet no response. :confused3 She moved since the last time I had to go to her house so I can't just drop over and surprise her either. Oh well, I gave it my best shot.

Shelly,

Don't worry about the buttons. We all appreciate your trying. Stick on names tags would work just as well.

I'll look for a lei. We have beautiful pink ones from the Poly, but not green.

Is anyone else traveling with someone who thinks this DIS stuff a little wierd? My Dh is not going to be particularly enthusiastic about rushing off to meet up with a bunch of computer "strangers." Maybe after he finds out you'll be having drinks in the lounge, he'll be more eager.

You know what else might be nice? Having a meeting place on CC at the family beach. That way the kids could play in the sand together and we could watch each other's stuff while we snorkel, etc. Whattaya think?

ok...i did it ....i ordered a basket (sand pail) for the kids from shirley....the eager mom in cruise mode beat out the cheap woman in me!!! :cool1:

now what to tell the hubby...it just "magically" appeared.... :rolleyes1

We're a bit more open to it than some might be, as this is not the first online group that we've made plans to meet with in the "real" world. When we bought our first popup camper back in 2001, we signed up with a popup camping club. We went on our first outing that year and have been camping with the group ever since. :) We have met some wonderful people and have made some great friends because of our activity with the group. Some of these folks we count amongst our closest friends...and they're now going on the cruise with us! (Bob & Melanie - aka obx1ab) :) :woohoo: :thumbsup2 :cool1:

Our first online group meet turned out well, so there's no reason to think that you folks will wind up being a bunch of crazy, axe toting yo-yo's...right?!!! :yo-yo: :scared1: :tiptoe:

Shelly, two things.

1. Please do not stress over the buttons. You let us know right in the begining there could be a problem getting the machine from Ms Undependable.. Thanks for trying.

2. I too agree with the last dbl ippers. There has not been a TP and I need one. I do not know why I need one, I just do. Do you think it is because I am an OVER planner? :rotfl2:

I was extremely nervous until we had our mini DIS meet in DL with Jackie, Peggy, Woody and Mrs. Woody. If my word counts for anything (after all, I am an ax wielding yo-yo, right Dave?), at the very least those 4 are wonderful, funny people. Can NOT wait to be shipmates with them!

Jennifer, does your DH realize he'll be stuck in a submarine with some of those strangers???

Jack...sorry, can't help you with the football info...

Carolyn...one more night, driving to San Diego tonight...really, really need to pack...:)

:thumbsup2 Thanks for sharing the video of the Magic and Wonder. We can barely wait here. :cool1: We look foward to meeting new friends. Have a blessed day.

This would be my whole family. I catch a lot of grief over the Dis boards and when I came home with a lime green boa, I thought they would die. I will be the one in the terminal that looks like she is traveling alone. :rotfl2:

I forgot to say Thanks to Shelly. :thanks: We really appreciate your trying to get the buttons done. I know that had to be an undertaking in its self. With the great lime green wrist bands and boa's I think we will be good to go. So stop stressing and get packing. Can't wait to meet you. :wave2:
