Hi Karen!

My mom is 59 and she has been sending boxes down from NJ with all the stuff she will "need" on the cruise! I got her bathing suits and pirate gear on Saturday!

I don't know why she won't tell him. It's not like he's going to say "NO" or anything. I also know that he isn't interested in cruising or even vacations so it isn't like he'd want to come....being home is his vacation.

Morning Cruisers.

I got booed. Thanks to Lauri for that. I can't get the thing to post in my signature though. Can anyone help me so I can pass it on?

For the tag game, are we telling beforehand what we'll bring so we don't bring the same as someone else? How many groups would we need to bring for? The kids would enjoy that. Also, when is the Dis meet?
I'm trying to catch up.

Thanks.

Personally I think she is waiting to tell him so that he doesn't have enough time to get a dumpster and empty out the basement while she's gone :rolleyes1

Now THAT's funny :rotfl2: Kind of remindes my of my experience last November when I did my 4 day Wonder and a few days at WDW. My SWEET sister, TiggersPal, was taking care of my cat while I was gone and was also not working at the time. So she spent some time at my house 'organizing' it for me. I still have the note she wrote on my grease board..."Be afraid, be very afraid, never leave an OCD sister alone at your house while you are on vacation!"

jjsmama, just right click on the bouncing Mickey and 'copy' then go to your USER ID and edit your signature, find the spot in your signature where you want it and right click and 'paste'. For the tag game, no don't tell, what's in your bag should be a surprise. txaggie just posted a while back that the count is at 17 BUT the game is still open to new people till 10/21 (someone correct me if I got that date wrong). The 'official' ;) DIS meet is at 3PM in the Promonade Lounge. But look for lime green wrist bands and feather boas while you are in the terminal and at lunch and introduce yourself!

jerry112 The vanilla/carmel tea is a flavor made by Bigelow...just buy it at the grocery store. If they don't have it, ask them to get it!

CRIKEY, time to hit the shower and start another work day. I'm thinking of taking a day off for pre-cruise house chores, just have to figure out the best time to do that. Gotta call the handyman and get some stuff done around here too AND have to take the car in for service and buy new tires. Good thing this cruise is paid for!

Good Morning All:

4 weeks and we will be waking up at sea! Can't wait.

I can't find the post now, but thanks to whoever sent me the link to Shirly's swebsite. I sent her an e-mail and she responded back with some info. Between her, and the folks on this cruise meet, I think I can get the answer to almost any problem :cool1:

Now, I have 2 boys, ages 11 & 8. What suggestions do you guys have for a basket from Shirly? Do you think she can do snorkel stuff? No fins, just the mask and tube.

As for my wife, have any of you ladys seen the pearl Mickey necklace? Is it worth the $255? If I order it from DCL, can I have them slip it to me without my wife seeing it so I can give it to her at Palos?

I got questions, and you guys most likely will have the answers, so, please help!!!!

Anyway, Thank in advance for the help.

BTW am I post 4000? Doesn't thank post ge someone a free drink!

Jack

:goodvibes Good morning! Hope you all had a good weekend. Shelly, good luck on your first day back at work.

We had a busy weekend, and this weekend we will be packing for our trip to Orlando and MNNSHP, and getting ready for our town's seafood festival this coming weekend. If ya'll like seafood (or Greekfood, Asian food, fried twinkies, fried snickers, funnel cakes...practically anything that may require angioplasty) and good music, come on down!

MOM2OF2 - My mom is 65 and my dad has agorophobia (sp?). He never goes more than 15 miles from home. Mom has been traveling on her own for about 10 years now, so I don't get it either.

Dad loves being home "alone" best of all. That's his vacation! :cool1:

Well, I need to get back to trying on all my cruise clothes. I have been so busy sorting and trying-on, I got dehydrated. Needed a break, but gotta get back to it before the kids get home. By the way, I'm so excited...EVERYTHING IS FITTING!!! :woohoo:
Karen

Yeah, Karen. I am so happy for you.

Jack..you are not post 4000 and yes if you were I would buy you a drink. :thumbsup2

I do not see any new lukers today. I guess they are not up to the challenge. :rotfl2:

Jackie and Peggy...you have created a monster. My dil now wants to order Crocs for everyone. eeeish.

I have noticed a few of you have boys around the age of 11. My son is 11 and seems to be very apprehensive about meeting other kids. We have cruised Disney twice before and neither time has he really connected with anyone else, so perhaps that is what's driving the hesitancy. (He's a little on the shy side too)

He also is determined NOT to go to the Lab this time either. Any ideas?

ibouncetoo: I also LOVE that Bigelow Carmel Vanilla tea!! It's the best!

Thanks to the well-wishers! Back is feeling a bit better today, and it's looking good for a return to work tomorrow. :thumbsup2

The news on the board is that we should be able to see the new "The Santa Clause 3" movie onboard. It is supposed to premiere onboard Nov. 2. That should be fun. The kids loved the first one. I love going to the movies 'without paying' for it. (No one needs to correct me either. Pretending ignorance is bliss.) ;)

Lots of posts from me today as I am stuck at home with a sick child (who doesn't seem very sick anymore.) One can only clean house for so long...

Kpiper, maybe meeting other kids at the DIS meet will help your son. I'd hate for him to not go to the Lab at all as he might miss some fun stuff. My boys will be there. They are 6 and 8 though, so he might not be very impressed.

I was thinking about bringing him to the DIS meet but I'm not sure I will be able to drag him out of Diversions long enough to go! He HAS to watch Ohio State football! My only hope is if the game starts later!

As for your kids being 6 and 8, I think that's less of an issue for him than simply being comfortable enough to meet people in the first place. He actually likes working with younger kids (e.g. church, karate, etc.).

My DGD is 10 and is not looking forward to the club either. Maybe they can meet and that will help them both want to go. She is excited about the cruise though.

edoted: I just read your last post (we must have been responding at the same time). Maybe he could come to the meet or if you see any of us in the terminal and we can introduce him to some of the kids.

My Ds ,Vito, is 11 and really wants to have some kids to hang out with especially in Ocean Quest. Maybe if he can't make the offical Dis meet we can plan for them to meet at another time.Last cruise my son felt if you didn't fit in to a "click" the first night it was really hard to fit in. Also a lot of people seem to travel in gruops and the kids all ready are friend before they cruise.

I am glad that you are up and about. Take it slow and listen to your body. Congrats on your anniversary
Linda

Oh, I stopped at TiggersPal's house after errands and she made the BEST cup of tea for me! Vanilla/Caramel....OMG!!!!! Dessert in a glass. We'll be bringing some of that on the ship ::yes::
I am a tea toddler and would love to try this tea. Can you share the ingredients now?

That's easy its a bigelow tea and its called Vanilla and Caramel! :)

They came, they came, they came!!!!! DIS bracelets arrived today! :cool1:  :cheer2: They really look GREAT!!! Nice job Ibouncetoo!!!

THANK YOU!

I guess I should have read through the two pages before I posted about the Bigelow as someone already answered it. Silly me- but if I don't quote and post by the time I get to the end - I've forgotten what I want to say...

this is from memory

Happy 20th Anniversay - Wojo and Sheljoj you two are too cute! I hope I'm still that lovely with my DH after 20 years. I'm at 8 thank God I made it past the itch!

Welcome aboard (the thread) to all you lurkers - don't be shy - just post already!

Speaking of weather (someone was) we've had two BEAUTIFUL breezy coolish days and I'm so happy to be alive!

Ok, that's it my memory has failed. Off to lunch I go.

okay, I asked this several pages back but didn't get an answer, so I'm gonna try again. We have to check in at the non-citizen line because of Germany husband. How do I go about, then, getting the CC member lanyard since I don't get to check in there? Do I present my card, reckon, or do they ask for it? Or will I have to go thru two lines? Surely hope it's not the latter...
