. . . Some folks are asking the next batch(es) of double-dippers to pick up t-shirts for them so they can wear them on the cruise (as they only go on sale THE LAST DAY).

This is probably DCL's response to an incident on the Eastbound Panama Canal Cruise.

On the first night, one guest bought ALL (you read that right -- ALL) of the commemorative t-shirts (causing many complaints). He immediately started posting them on eBay at the onboard internet cafe (causing many more complaints because there were already waiting lines to use the terminals, and Wi-Fi was not yet available). There were hundreds of complaining guests.

So, the new practice (selling special merchandise on the last day) might be a way for DCL to reduce the number of complaints during a cruise.

. . . Last summer I bought oldest DS a swimsuit online from the DisneyStore. It is Mens Small. . . Anyone want it?

Wow -- an incentive to take my diet seriously.

Found out something new from our TA today when she called in our final payment. We were already listed for main seating for dining (which is the early seating). They gave us the option for 5:30, 5:45, or 6pm for our dining time. We requested 6pm. Can we tell by the 6pm time what our dining rotation will be? Anyone know?
if you look at the nav. it will say what your rotation will be. Its on the first page on the right hand side toward the bottom. If you need the navigatos let me know I have them saved or you can get them from http://www.castawayclub.com/m040619/westday0.htm
I asked for 8:00 about four months ago. and i have really planned around that time.

We have our attire planned. Please do not act shocked, I have already admitted that I am OCPD. We are wearing red tops and khaki bottoms. Out last one we wore blue and white and it lookes great. I think the ref will go good with this photo back ground as well as the old one.

I'm not at all surprised!!

Woody, I think another reason they only sell the Twice The Magic stuff the second day, is so that people will buy Castaway Cay stuff the first day! And also, it IS you second (therefore TWICE) visit to CC, so it's the 'official' day for the 'official' merchandise.

Hey SpotDude that DD Navigator your e-mailed....it didn't have Friday with it. Do you have that day?

Have a great day Double-dippers!

I have a niece that my Mother en-law wants to bring with us, but all of our rooms are full. If anyone has any ideas please pass them on. The only idea that I could come up with is we have some friends that only have 2 people in there room booking her in that room and letting her sleep in one of the other rooms. Has anyone done this? And if so do the stewards complain? Is it even allowed by DCL?
I don't know if anyone responded to this yet bu I don't think DCL will allow this.
Last year DW and I took my mother and 2 of her friends on a Wonder cruise. We had 3 cabins all together. DW and I in one and my mother and one of her friend in another. The third cabin occupied by my mother's other friend by herself. Our niece wanted to go so we book her in our cabin since it would only cost my brother $500. My mother's friend, that was in the cabin by herself said that she could sleep in her cabin. We checked through DCL if this would be alright and they said no because of the room assignment. Well our niece ended up sleeping in our cabin.

I do not see why it matters if you do not need a KTTW. I could see there being an issue if you needed one.

Here's the Castaway Cay Capt. Jack.....note quite as good a Johnny Depp look alike as the Disneyland Capt Jack we saw:

That makes sense.

Sure would be great to wear those shirts on embarking day for the photo!!!! That would be awesome!

Do we have any of those connections????

Our friends doing the double dip went on the first cruise, so too late to ask them. :sad2:

As for the whole room/relative thing. Last cruise our oldest son was booked into Needalatte's room (and slept there). It connected to our cabin. We paid for his portion of the cruise (in their room), as well as any excursions booked through DCL (they had to book him for us in their room).

THis cruise, our family has 2 connecting cabins. I am booked into one room with 1 son, and DH is booked into the other room with our other 2 sons. Of course DH and I will be sleeping in the same room as our youngest DS, and the older 2 boys will have the connecting room. Booking agent on board said that it was up to us to decide if we were going to assign sleeping arrangements different than the booking. I'm not sure how you would book someone in one party's room and find room for them to sleep in a room that was already booked with the maximum occupants. :confused3

Today I got together with someone on the last DD. So, too late for that one.

When we booked our two rooms it was to be us in one and the boys in another. Because ds#1 is only 18 we had to have one of us booked in one room and one of us booked on the other. But, we were told that the actual sleeping arrangements were up to us. Of course I hadn't thought about the whole KTTW situation. Hmmm, gonna have to work that one out. :confused3

:tinker:

Shelly, what we did on the last cruise worked great (of course if the rooms are not connecting, it will not work). We rigged the connecting doors so that we were always able to go between the rooms. On both doors, while they were open, we turned the deadbolts out. This way neither door would close all the way. THis made both rooms accessible no matter which KTTW you had.

Can someone clarify this for me, just so I'm absolutely clear on it? If I'm paid in full and a CC member, I can go online at 2 am (CST) on 8/13 and book Palo, etc? I'm gonna have to get up at 1 and drive into town to my dad's office where he has DSL to do this, so I don't want to have the night wrong!!

That's my understanding.....Sat night 8/12 you stay up late and at 12:01am Eastern (which is now Sun 8/13) you can book. Somebody please correct us if we're wrong. ::yes::

Well, I'm buying our trip insurance tonight....through insuremytrip.com, we picked one of the Access American plans (Classic). OR maybe first thing tomorrow...I'm VERY sleepy...don't want to do any stupid 'clicking'.

Hope you are all having a good weekend......wonder if the new batch of double-dippers are doing a live report? Guess I'll go check that out too!

okay....about the whole KTTW cards for people in multiple cabins....all of you just go to guest services and tell them which cabin you need each key to open and they will fix it there....on our last cruise my husband and i reserved different cabins with 4 kids total, then my mom decided to come along....since i had the cat 11 room, i had 3 kids....my hubby had the cat 8 room with 1 kid so my mom got added to his room...it was very funny because the REAS package was undermy husband's cabin ressie and all the info was addressed to him and my mom!!! :rotfl2: :rotfl2: anyway...my hubby and i slept with 1 child and my mom slept with 3 in the cat 11....they gave her a new card that would open the cat 11 room with her credit card attached for charges and traded my card for one that would open my hubby's room....it was very easy and painless!!!!

also, about the panama cruise...didn't someone fly in t-shirts about the whole pin trading incident (sleeping in the halls) and sell them while DCL got mad????

t shirts are on sale at the disney store...see my post in the regular DCL forum...

we bought the current tropical outfits which i think will look good on the yellow background..... :woohoo:
